I'm pretty sure the Big East would field that phone call if it came from the organizers...

Maybe C-USA and MWC will get their act together and try again to make it a champion vs champion bowl game.

Maybe they can play in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on New Years Day.

To me, it seems to cheapen the experience to play an 8th placed team from another conference.

liberty or alabama pizza bowl would have been better off going after acc team 7, ie the indy bowl than hoping for sec team 9...now whoever gets sec team 8 between the liberty and pizza bowl should be fine most years but being at team 9 is too risky.

Little late for that since MWC #1 already is contracted for the Las Vegas Bowl

The Liberty would rather have an SEC team than a #1 from MWC

RE: Liberty Bowl being pushed down to sec8?
why wouldnt the liberty bowl be interested in BE#3 if the CDOA opponent is scaring the SEC away

BE3 vs SEC6 or SEC7 would be a good game

i think CUSA should be able to get a better game for their champion than the 8th place SEC team. I understand why the Liberty Bowl would want to fill a slot w/ the SEC, but it sucks for CUSA. They'd be better off working out a deal for the champ of any of the other non-bcs games. I bet the MAC champ v. CUSA champ would be a great game every year.

I have a feeling that before long our champ will be playing in Texas, which is great for most of C-TEX but not for all of us.

Ding! Ding! Ding!!

Remember, the Liberty Bowl had MWC and CUSA Champs one year...where BOTH teams were ranked in the Top 10...yet the game didn't sellout.

That's all you need to know.

Memphis and its metropolitan areas of Miss/Ark...is SEC FOOTBALL Country (even if the neighboring teams aren't that great).

Arkansas isn't too shabby. They'd have beaten Florida, if they didn't have to play against the referees, as well as the Gators...

My speculation is that the SEC is punishing the bowl for courting The Big East and trying to assist Memphis with gaining BCS status.
