Here's the reason why Bower would have won that game:

USM WAS DOMINATING MTSU'S D-LINE. Bower would have seen that and would have been running at that D-Line all night. That's not Fedora's M.O. Despite the fact that USM could have walked to a 4 yard gain (or more) on every play, Fedora chose to go with what got USM to the N.O. Bowl - spread offense with vertical passing and slow-developing run plays. Had Fedora adjusted the game plan to fit what was going on on the field - a total domination of the line of scrimmage by the USM O-Line - USM would have won.

USM had more talent than MTS and got beat, WHY?

Somewhere, I can't help to think that Bower and Steve Logan got similar treatments.

At least Fedora is better than our experience. It seems that USM doesn't have any "teeth".

USM has become the ECU of the 90s. Pretty offense and no defense. ECU has become the USM of the 90s. Ball control and tough defense. Notice the changes in each other's trophy cases?

I'm not pulling out the chopping block like some of our idiot fans are, Fedora deserves four years. But if there are no changes made in the defensive coaching staff you have to question his head coach ability. This game was the UAB game all over again. Painful to watch.

If this was Fedoras 17th season I am sure you would see a similar push at this point.

Bower suffered two losing seasons in his first three years. In 1993, his third season, he compiled a 3-7-1 record. So Fedora is off to a much better start. That was the last losing season we had.

But you can bet our fanbases honeymoon with Fedora is over.
