Swapping the $2m Yankee for the $750k INTL is an unalloyed Good Thing. Still hurts to lose Gator/Sun for Champs, though.

Thats a great lineup considering that 5 of our 6 tie-ins are with BCS conferences.

It could be SEC #8 going to Papa outright as part of the agreement.

The Liberty will have to accept the SEC #9 w/MAC backup. The MAC will probably get the backup in Memphis since they'll lose the International without the Big East.

The Big East will backup the Big Ten in Detroit, which should be a good deal for the MAC.

Pretty good take of what's going on Airport. Although I can't imagine an SEC fan base looking forward to going to Birmingham, instead of Memphis. It's almost like being #8 is a penalty relative to #9.

The Little Caesar backup thing makes sense, too, in absence of the IB. However, I don't think the BE would have 7 bowl eligible teams too often, although the 'Cuse may break through next season.

The Big East can go MCB when ND takes a bowl from their lineup.

That's the problem. So far, ND is on contracted to be able to take 1 spot, from the champs, in next 4 yrs. The BE has never had 7 eligible.
Don't know if that arrangement would be approved.

Don't see papa totally passing liberty. Plus I think BE may have eased off due to it being BE5 and sec has had 10 eligible 2 of last 4. Sec appears to want in birmingham but may need this 'shared' deal to get approved, which would help BE but hurt liberty.

Sign on for the International Bowl with ND as the back up for the BE. Domers already have passports for the game in Ireland. Send the number five team to Toronto if the Birmingham Bowl doesn't up their payout to the rumored $1.2 million for the BE that was floating a while back. If the Pizza Bowl doesn't up the payout and teams continue to loose money going there ND can play here too as a replacement when the BE uses the Toronto Bowl connection in its place to break even or make a small profit for the northern BE schools. Had a friend working the Pizza Bowl this year who said it was warmer in Toronto when he worked the game up there. The Domers would still be ahead of the game at $300k with their looser's share of the BSC payout they get for not attending. If ND takes the Champs Bowl the BE is covered all the way down to its 6 & 6 teams too with the International and the rest of the bowls they have signed on to.

04-cheers

Don't think BE wants to totally abandon only chance to play sec.
That said, don't think they are totally unhappy with toronto.
My guess is sec wins again as usual.

RE: Early likely new BE Bowls article
You guys can debate these insignificant bowls we're forced to accept for our lesser teams. Once a playoff happens, we can finally end all the debate on games that have absolutely no meaning...
