Ebanks will start for whatever NBA team signs him. He's a lock down defender with better defensive skills than many current NBA players, and might even be a lottery pick if he declared this year. I think he needs another year at WVU to polish his game a bit more. But Ebanks could start from day one, whenever he decides to declare...
looks like this will be put to the test in a few months. Ebanks declared

However, Ebanks hasn't signed an agent. So he's leaving the door open for a return to WVU. I don't expect him to come back, though. His draft prospects seem pretty high at the moment...

I kind of curious myself. Oklahoma City would be a very good fit for him...

we need a guard off the bench who can defend the bigger guards in the west like kobe and roy. harden can't handle them, but i have a feeling ebanks can

RE: Is another Calipari team about to choke?
Ebanks has shut down several good players, some of whom project as high draft picks this season. Defense has been his forte at WVU, which is why many would like to see him return to Morgantown to display the offensive ability they've been wanting to see since he arrived on campus...
But reports indicate he's planning on hiring an agent. So I figure he's gone. I think the NBA labor dispute might have something to do with that. A new collective bargaining agreement could cause him to lose considerably if he were to return to school...

Was looking at the Lakers' stats this season, saw Ebanks and remembered this thread. needless to say, i don't think ebanks is close to starting anytime soon

don't get me wrong, WVU was tough and i was rooting for them, but it's a choke. he had by far the most talented team in the country and WVU was missing their starting PG. that's a letdown. 4 potential lottery picks, and 2 of the top 3 picks.
On the balance, I think Paul Hewitt's talent was pretty close, and the results were ALOT worse.
The difference is that no one is going to argue that Hewitt is a good coach......

Ebanks is lucky to be getting any time at all, with the way Phil Jackson manages. Phil almost never plays rookies...

farmar got 15.1 mpg. hell, even bynum got over 7 mpg his rookie year and he was about as raw as they come. i think ebanks would get very little playing time no matter what team he was on. tony allen (Grizzlies), who is a very similar player, barely ever plays, as evidenced by his ZERO minutes last night
