I understand this is a emotional issue with people...but...should that emotion override one of the principles that America was founded upon?...Private property rights.

I don't think "they" should have any say in what a person does with someone else's private property as long as they are not harming others. I really am not concerned with "they" I am concerned with the property rights of the owner.

The problem is that people somehow feel obligated to stick their noses into affairs that they legally have no control over...and we have a government that allows it. Private property is just that....Private property..politics be damned.

I would think it to be a stupid move...but..if the owner allows a mosque to be built...then..It is none of my affair. He is the one that will have to live with the consequences of that decision.

And that point there should be exhibit #1 to the legions of clueless dolts in our country. Accidently letting slip what their real aims are.

I don't hate Muslims. I only hate fundamental morons like Roberta. I recognize our true enemy, the radical extremist Muslims.

Here are some accounts of these NY community meetings, from Pamela Geller, who tricked them into letting her speak (they thought she was a supporter).

The Fix Was In: 911 mega mosque community board farce, board votes yes for mega mosque

Read up on this Imam and his wife in this second piece. Check what they've said in the past and what they are saying now, for American (NY) public consumption.

911 mega mosque imam - I don't believe in religious dialogue - cue up the daisy khan lies

Anybody who thinks this will not be portrayed as a victory in Islamist societies is clueless enough to work for this administration.

And this is the only argument that could convince me to just let it go. However, there is this additional issue:

They're at war with us. We're in a war, whether we accept it or not. And even the founding fathers saw private property rights trumped for the sake of war.

I wonder how many construction delays and accidental fires will break out on this job? The same union guys who built the WTC and then carted off its pieces will be asked to do this job. I wouldn't be surprised to see the mafia somehow get involved, well, we already know they'll be involved if the job includes paint, cement, plumbing, dumpsters, dump trucks, carpenters, etc.

You know what I find interesting?....In the reporting of this story and all the subsequent comments...There is not a single mention of the what the owner of the property thinks about all this..or..any consideration of his or her's property rights. If that is not wrong..then..we might as well just lay down and die as total slaves to the state.03-puke

I think it's the Islamic group that owns it.

What, none of your typical "racist" and "hate" bs?

The race for stupidity is between you and Mach and amazingly, I have to say Mach has taken a strong lead for now. But I'm sure your not going to concede the race.

I think it's the Islamic group that owns it.

If so...Then unless it goes against zoning codes...It is their prerogative as to what they decide to build there. It will be interesting to see if those in power use the force of government to stop them. I predict they will.

Rob, who started all this crap in the first place and won't let it end? How many non-Muslim people walk around wearing suicide vests? We can either fight them or be slaughtered by them. Everyone here knows where I stand.

Muhammad and everyone who follows his commands, and they alone, deserve all the blame, dumb ass. If you want to take some of the blame, speak for yourself. No one else here wants to join in your propaganda 'sept Mach and JOwl. The rest of us aren't gay for Islam.
