I loved leaving Memphis for South Mississippi in 1990 for the simple reason we had nothing to fight for except dignity and respect down there. We are all still fighting for both. That's what makes me a USM'er. And those friends I still have today still feel the same way, black and white.

Growing up in Memphis may have made me a little tougher than most I guess, but trust me there is no real advantage in the professional world to having been born & raised there. I would have much rather been born and raised in, say Atlanta, Charlotte or Nashville. Even better, Austin, Palo Alto, New York or a similar progressive city during the 80's - 90's. If I'm too pu$$y to be a truck driver or warehouse worker in the blue-collar Bluff City, then so be it. I'll take my current lot in life any day thank you.

To all realistic Memphis fans, I apologize for my crudeness and general lack of civility toward the city and the program. To those that act like Memphis has been doing all of us in the Metro/Great Midwest/CUSA a favor all these years for "gracing us with their presence" I hope you take my words to heart and realize that I'm talking about you. You get what you ask for. Including empty wins in the NCAA tourney which are so easily vacated when you cheat. Memphis has always been quick to sell its soul for a quick win since Gene Bartow left and took all the integrity that existed in Roane Fieldhouse way back when. Your last 2 "ghost" Final Four appearances prove that fact. (also see Art Winsler, giving Keith Lee $10K to sign from Ark St.).
