Last year was 17,400 up from 15,600 the previous year, which was one of the top 25 largest increases in FBS football. We expect to more than double that increase again this year, which would be one of the top 10 largest increases in FBS football.

If you can double that increase from the previous year that would be a really good sign. How many season tickets have you guys sold so far this year? Does the season ticket sales seem to have improved over last years numbers at this time?

.

I have absolutely no idea, but student support will definitely be up.

I see that you have your location as "Ohio". Maybe you are affiliated with one of those Mac schools that took a regular *** whoopin when Marshall was in the Mac? 03-lmfao Thats just a guess but I bet I'm right.

I have no idea what your problem is toward me. Why do you want to take your frustrations you have for Marshall on me? You act like I've listed Marshall as my number 1 candidate which is not true. Matter of fact I have them 4th or 5th down the line. Is it because I have historically listed Marshall in my Top 5? I'm not the only one on these boards who have listed Marshall as expansion possibility. I dont see you treating them any different.

I'd recommend taking your frustrations over to the CUSA board and talk to some of those Marshall guys if you have issues with Marshall people. Sorry EsayemOwl, your simply a waste of my time..

Actually, you're right. I'm a guy from Philly eatin' a cheesesteak, actin' like a North Carolinian, and havin' his career in Ohio.

It's amazing that people are criticizing Villanova's attendance when they aren't even a Division I-A school. I would actually be more disappointed in Temple's attendance considering they were once a BCS program. Villanova would be more along the lines of a UConn, you have to build them up and nurture them. They are not as far along as UConn was, but they are still viable if done correctly.

The problem is that Villanova doesn't have the infrastructure & they don't have a way to get there like UConn did. Don't take my word for it, take Villanova's word for it. They've been saying that for a very long time.

Yes, Villanova is landlocked. They have a very old stadium, that is too small. Talked with a 'Nova grad about this yesterday, where he said he would be disappointed if VU really turned down an opportunity to move up, but he doesn't actually believe it happened anyway. Who knows...

From today's Charleston Gazette regarding Nova

"There's a push on, yes,'' said one source. "It's not a hard push and we don't want to make it that way because we don't want to force anyone to do something they don't want to do or scare them off. But that would certainly solve some problems.''

There are issues, of course. Villanova loses millions on its football program each year, despite its success. It plays in an 8,000-seat, on-campus stadium and didn't even sell it out for a national semifinal game last year. And as Temple can attest, Philadelphians aren't exactly clamoring to watch college football.

While the addition of Villanova would spur a collective yawn from most of the Big East's fan base in regard to positioning for eventual conference realignment (This is your solution?), it would be hailed by the league's coaches, who have been crying for years about an unbalanced schedule. It would save the basketball side from adding no-value members (save for Memphis, which adds nothing in football; take your pick) and expanding beyond 16 teams.
