The part about friends and family investors is mostly correct as far as I can tell. The last time we went around for fund raising the deal was that, to go outside our friends and family circle there were ridiculous (basically prohibitive) SEC filings necessary. This may have been Angel/VC type restrictions but I don't know because we agreed immediately not to go beyond f&f.

What the author is saying makes a lot of sense. Would've have made our lives a lot easier.
