RE: BCS Conference Comparison: September 19, 2010
As has been so often the case in the past, WVU is carrying the Big East reputation on its back. A win in Baton Rouge this coming week would be huge for WVU of course but also big for the Big East.

I thought it was just common-sensical. Anyone who saw that Maryland-Navy game knows Maryland was extremely lucky to eek out a win.

This is great work indeed. We're clearly on the bottom but the ACC is realistically tied for the honor.

I am shocked that the Big 10 and Big 12 have faired so poorly against BCS competition.

I often am shocked by the results as well. I think it's because most of us have a tendency to focus on what the best teams do, not the worst. E.g., an ACC fan will tend to remember that Miami beat Pitt, but forget that Duke lost to East Carolina (or somesuch), an SEC fan will remember that LSU beat WVU, but forget that Vandy lost to UConn. It's natural, because the games featuring the top teams are televised, get the media attention, whereas those bottom-rung games are below the radar.
But in my system, they all count, top to bottom.
