Bengals??
No Bengals talk?

They totally blew it today.

Rey Maluaga may be the only person dumber than Dre Kirkpatrick on the team. Those two cost the Bengals a win today.

The Bengals seem to have the opposite problem of the Bearcats. They insist on running BJGE around the outside even though he is probably the slowest running back in the NFL.

Terrible first loss because they gave it away. I expect the Reds to get shutout tonight to complete the horrible Cincy sports weekend.

Do coaches count? I'm still wondering what they were trying to accomplish at the end of the first half. Seems to me if you've got 90 yards to go with less than a minute left the other team has a much better chance of scoring than you do. Considering the result that late field goal ended up being huge.

RE: Bengals??
of course bears kicker kicks one about 65 yards hitting career long fg.

Kirkpatrick...bust and idiot.

Turnovers killed them today.

And Geno....where were you today? DL had zero sacks????

RE: Bengals??
I dont' know which sucks more: getting whipped by a team you should beat or giving away a close one. Either way it was a lousy weekend for Cincinnati football. Good news is UC loss wasn't to a conference team and the Bengals are still tied for first with the whole division laying an egg.

All in all though, at least the Bengals had some bright spots: Dunlap looked great, AJ was AJ except for arguably causing both of Dalton's picks, Eifert had a nice first game and Gresham looks like he may have really picked up his game, Collins held up very well, Burfict is becoming a warrior. Looking back, the Bears were really fortunate to get a ton of breaks from some fingertip catches to AJ's drop for a pick to the personal foul calls going for retaliation rather than to the initiators, to a record field goal. Is it too early for Gio to start getting most of the touches while BJGE focuses on short yardage and maybe some pass blocking?

Oh well, at least the Reds came through with a hugely successful weekend!

That 2nd and 14 pass attempt from inside their own 8 was a killer. Had they simply run the ball they would have left the Bears with just a few seconds left on the clock by the time they fielded a punt. Marvin will never fully grasp clock management.

At least they had a better day than the Steelers. They lost two starters for the season, including All-Pro Center, Maurkice Pouncey, on what looks like a dirty hit from his own lineman! Pouncey tore his ACL and MCL.

RE: Bengals??
The Bengals' historic futility gives one hope that if a solid fan base can be built upon such a poor foundation, a winning UC program can sustain a loyal following despite conference uncertainty. Enhanced stadium amenities, increased tailgating options and a new generation of fans will come for the UC gameday experience.

RE: Bengals??
Did DeCastro just take him out?

I guess DeCastro didnt like that Pouncey was wearing the "Free Hernandez" hat. He showed him

But onto the Bengals...Turnovers lost the game. Dalton first pick turned into points for bears. Daltons second pick (green is actually human and dropped the pass) More points for bears
Sanu fumble should have atleast been 3 points for bengals, turned into points for chicago.

then Kirkpatrick stupid penalty turned into 3 points for the bears.

2 stupid timeouts because of 12 men on the field.(I thought Burfict called that last timeout because he was injured. The guy is one tough MAN)

The game was already over for the stupid Maualuga penalty.

to sum it up..Cincinnati football sucks against Illinois teams

RE: Bengals??
The Bengals actually impressed me most of the game yesterday. The two interceptions and the fumble really hurt. The defense got off to a decent start but faltered in the second half. But the offense looked as good as I've seen it in a long time.

I see it pretty similarly, especially having given it a little time. So many freaky things all had to happen to lose that game and most of the key mistakes by the Bengals should be fairly easily eliminated or at least significantly reduced.

Defensively it wasn't great but I agree the offense was humming quite a bit of the time especially considering Whit was out. My only real complaints on O were oft-noted pass play near the end of the first half and not getting the ball in Gio's hands more often, especially in space. I know you have to run some plays between the tackles and BJGE is probably the best guy to do it right now, but let's just do it enough to keep 'em honest unless it's actually working.

Beat the Steelers next week (which appears very do-able) and things will suddenly look quite a bit better imo.
