Andy's Mediteranian Grille. Get the Lamb Shank. You'll thank me later.

Best Indian this side of my Ol' Lady is Krishna on Calhoun. Only 4 booths and it's served on styrofoam, but it's freakin' worth it. It's where people who own Indian restaraunts go to eat Indian if they are not at their own joint.

Riverside for the Dolsat Bibim Bab. Put Korean on the rotation. It will ruin Anericanized Chinese for you.

Bella Luna on Eastern Ave fir the best Italian calimari in town.

Pelican Reef for all things conch.

I second the motion for Andy's Mediterranean. Good stuff.

I ate at Scotti's downtown the other night for the first time in 15 years, and I never remember the food being so good. The salad was oddball - almost like vinegary cole slaw - but the rest of it was so satisfyingly good.

Mexican - skip Cactus Pear and go to Tacqueria Mercado, downtown. I also happen to dig the carnitas at Nada downtown. The best bacony queso is at Poco a Poco in Hyde Park Square - I wonder if they still have the pig roast on Tuesday nights (FYI, Poco is not a Mexican place.)

Mayberry on Vine Street downtown is kind of fancy schmancy (and very small), but if you're a foodie and don't mind getting little plates of different things, it's all so good. The menu changes from week to week, so I can't vouch for whatever they're serving now.

I'm not into chains, but if you like meat, skip Ruby's and go to Boi Na Braza downtown. Braizilians with skewers of meat make their rounds and you eat until you can't eat no mo'.

I've heard good things about this little Vietnamese place near campus called "Cilantro" but it has been so long since I've eaten there that I dont' remember the food.

Dang, no wonder I've gotten fat.

While this doesn't sound like what glacier is looking for, best German goes to Mecklenberg. For all the Germans in this city, you'd think there would be more good options. Mecklenberg is the only one that serves good German food. Plus they give you a shuttle bus ride to the game.

I liked Cumin, but I thought it might have been a bit 'a bridge too far'. I should probably try it again sometime.

Emanu is Pleasant Ridge makes good east african food.

Tokyo on Chester Road in Sharonville has half priced sushi on Thursdays, I think.

Even with the best of restaurants, customer tastes change, chefs leave, owners tire, money runs out. There was a time that no one would have believed the Maisonette would close due to lack of customers.

My wife & I loved Chester's Roadhouse, Fo Fo the Bo & the Nikko Inn. Mind you, in those days gone by I was young and less refined.

A couple of excellent chain restaurants that I didn't mention were Victoria Station (prime rib) in Queensgate, and Cork & Cleaver in Sharonville.

Now back to the food eating advice for GD thread.

A couple of my buddies just opened a kind of gourmet pizza place at 13th and Vine in Over the Rhine (right next to Senate, which people also really like). It's called A Tavola. They make wood fired pizzas and some other stuff and they have a full bar. It's been pretty packed since they opened a few weeks ago, but it's worth checking out if you're into that type of food.

RE: Cincy food
I thought I'd add a couple spots to the list:

Finally made my way over the Eli's BBQ on Riverside Ave, and it is worth the trip. I had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw on it. I added a little bbq sauce, had some mac and cheese and jalepeno cornbread. It was all great. They cook everything in a massive smoker outside. there is a lot of outside seating and it is BYOB. People there brought cases, and coolers. Went with the girlfriend, but I can't wait to go back with a group. I didn't know it was BYOB, but a group of guys there gave me a couple of their leftover beers when they left.

Washington Platform- it's downtown on Elm street near Central Parkway. It's known for its seafood (I hear the seafood bisque is spectacular, and plan on getting it soon). Before 7 they have 2 dollar drafts and half price wings...the wings are damn good and they always have some sort of special wing (yesterday it was a bourbon chipotle).

The Wurst Bar- Had that last Friday, just opened in Mt. Lookout. Any kind of hotdog/mett/braut you can imagine. I got the mett with garlic fries and blue cheese and it was delightful. We also got the pigs and a blanket appetizer and this sausage cheese dip appetizer. It was all very good. Also they have specialty drink menu that has what is basically a manhatten, made with Rye Whiskey and Scotch.... It was awesome.
