There is a recruiting topic about our win over UofL and the effects on Florida recruits on warchant premium. The article sums up some of the top recruit feelings towards USF and the Big East. Overall, many recruits want to play on national and regional TV and want to play against rivals such as schools in the SEC and ACC and play for a national championship. It will take time for the Big East northern exposure to warm up on recruits; however, after a few more big wins, we will be able to get anyone we want. When Miami was in the BE, they were able to sell their history, national championships, they play FSU and sometimes UF, and the fact that almost all their games are on regional or national TV. But also they were able to recruit on that national level. If we can get a few rivals, more national TV games, more southern exposure for regional TV (the SEC, ACC, and CDOA have regional games shown in all southern states, while the BE only have games shown in Florida), we will be fine and the BE will be fine. Can the BE show games in Georgia, the Carolinas, Alabama, and etc? From what I understand the entire northeast (including Baltimore, but not DC) get BE regional games, but stops at Baltimore and picks back up in Florida.

Jackson, I think UCF would be a great addition to the Big East since they would provide a heated rival & a travel partner for USF. From what I read on message boards, the USF fans would have a fit if UCF were added. In the end I think the Big East will split and go to 12. I think you will see UCF, ECU, Memphis, & possibly Marshal added. That would be a pretty balanced & strong football/basketball combination.

there is no reason to ever go to 12, but even if that happened, i will tell you this: Marshall will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER in a million years be invited to the Big East. Trust me on this. Folks who bring them up in BE expansion discussion may as well bring up Kent State and Ohio U - they have as much as chance as Marshall - meaning, zero.

I do not think this has helped the Big East at all. Louisville was the only team that had any respect in the nation. They lost about 15 places in the polls after this past weekend.

WVU had better win out this season or the Big East will get NO respect.
WVU has to come into Ray-Jay this year. Should be a great game on 10-22-05.

Go BULLS...........

it will be a great game. I was worried about this game before the UL game, but now....

Oddly enough, I'm actually LESS worried because I thought WVU would possibly overlook USF and the Bulls could pull the road upset.

Now I'm pretty confident that WVU will be very aware of how dangerous USF is. And I wouldn't consider it an upset either.

Should be a great game!! wish I could make the trip to Tampa, i've never been.

04-cheers
