your right, we seem to have a split in our ranks

group 1 : hate what happened to huggs, but are too exited about the big east, and overall loyalty to the returning players to boycott.
group 2 : also hates what happened to huggs and feel the university will be permantly damaged by the presidents want to be "vanderbilt, and xavier) type school. Zimpher(PRES.) and other bot must be removed. some of us believe that attendance will suffer sooner than later. make it sooner and she will be gone and then we can rebuild.
alot of boosters are pissed including big money people.
This is not about huggs anymore, its about saving the university. the battle has just begun!

I bought 4 tickets to UC's first football game earlier in the week. I hate Zimpher, I hate what she is doing to my alma mater, and I want her gone before she can do any more damage.

BUT,

I love my University and it's sports teams above all else. I will always support UC and refuse to let that ruthless ***** take that away from me. I will voice my displeasure about the Nazi in any forum possible and do whatever I can to quicken the process of her ouster. I will also attend the sporting events and cheer on my Bearcats, because that is what they deserve and I just enjoy the games too much. Unfortunately I am in the minority here and I totally understand other people's viewpoints. Thousands of people sent emails and made phone calls to Nancy and BOT and our opinions were completely disregarded. Some feel that a major hit in the pocketbook is their only recourse to make their feelings felt and hopefully change the direction that we are headed.

I will be at the game this Thursday. This Bearcat fan is excited about the Big East and can't wait to start the season!!!

Bearcats Forever, Nancy and the BOT (gone the sooner the better)

Hopefully the BOT at Cincinatti will do what the BOT at Pitt did. When J. Dennis O'Connor was our Chancellor, he completely ignored the FB program and tried to make Pitt into a BB school. Not suprisingly he was the Chancellor in the early to mid 90's. That didn't sit well with the majority of fans or alums. Eventually, the BOT stepped in and booted his @$$ out the door. Our current Chancellor, Mark Nordenburg, understands the value that winning sports programs bring in the form of free advertising and increased interest in the school from prospective students. Since Nordy came in Pitt has built new practice facilities on the South Side, joined the Steelers at Heinz Field, and built the Petersen Events Center, all 1st class facilities. The results on the field and court have shown it was money well spent. I hope the Cincy BOT has the nads to get rid of Zimpher if she doesn't unscrew this situation quickly. Can her and the money and support will come back.

it's occurred to me that it's possible -- merely possible -- that the BoT hired Doktor Zimpfer as a high-priced hitman (witch). She may not be fully aware of this herself. They may have brought her here, and encouraged her to get rid of Huggins. And after it didn't work in May, they pushed her to finish the job no matter what.

I'm not defending the Witch Queen. It's just an idea.

And if it's true, then the BoT may indeed let her go now that the deal is done.

The BoT are thus heroes, and Zimpf gets the big notoriety as an athletic's fighter to go up another step.

So... why did the BoT want to slaughter the fatted cow?

Definitely. We still want to be a part of the Big East, but not at the expense of Cincinnati.

Their fans deserve better than this fiasco. For what it's worth, Memphis, Louisville and Cincinnati are all joined at the hip.. so when one of three suffers a blow, we all feel it.

All you have to do is look at our message board to come to that realization.
Classy reply! 04-cheers

Bottom line, will UC be replace in 2008 or 2010 when the split happens? I hope UC does stay in but Nanc Z. seems to want to turn UC stheltics into club sports!

Several points come to mind.

1. Zimpher has absolutely no sense of appropriate timing.
2. UC fans would be foolish to boycott athletic events. That would make the athletic clout less and Zimpher's greater.
3. Dantonio and the FB team were no part of this affair and should be given the full support of the fans.
4. UC's position in the BE is totally secure.
5. Some people would cut their nose off to spite their face. There are much more expedient ways to get rid of a school president without hurting athletics.

Let's play some football.

Until 2010, but if UC is a bottom feeder in basketball and football, they could be left behind when a new all-sports conference is formed. And i surely hope this is not the case. However, Nancy Z. could take UC atheltics down!

FYI....USF's actual attendance figures was 19,500 plus last year.

USF announces on game-day and reports to the NCAA tickets "distributed" (aka tix sold, distributed, free/discounted, etc..).

Tampa Stadium Authority gave local media "acutal" attendance numbers for USF. (As they have every year...usually about 20-30% off "announced" numbers.)
