Memphis is screwed
If any school will be screwed over superconference formation, it would be Memphis. They never get mentioned in any expansion news aside from those Basketball Yummies on message boards that would love nothing more than to be affiliated with Memphis BB. No one talks Memphis FB, and that is a killer for the school.

RE: Memphis is screwed
Every school in C-USA is screwed. No way any of them end up in a BCS conference now. Especially since the Big East is in line to pick their choice of Kansas, K-State, Iowa State and Baylor. There go the dreams of UCF, ECU, Houston, SMU, and whatever minor chance Memphis, Villanova, Temple or the military academies had. All completely dead now unless the Big 10/ACC get greedy and start this all over again 1-3 years from now.

All of this isn't true. What is true is that Penn St will get rolled this Saturday. That is the only sure thing in Penn St future.

I still think the remnants of the Big 12 invite replacements.

I think the MWC and CUSA each lose 2-4 schools.

Interesting that you chose to attack my opinion with a prediction regarding a team you obviously feel passionate about that has nothing to do with this thread topic. Would it make you feel better if I agreed with you? I know you're trying to elicit a riot, but you picked the wrong poster to be smug with. I'm not a naive fanatic fanboy stuck in complete denial like most of our posting brethren. Of course Alabama is going to beat PSU this week. So what? I'll still watch and enjoy the game. That doesn't have anything to do with the thread topic or my opinion on what's at stake for the C-USA schools.

I had to make this account to tell You That your opinion holds about as much water as Jo pas depends. Its all about $ and after seeing a couple of your neducated posts I thought I'd just tell you that.

Thank you. I see you're an ECU fan and you don't like my opinion that ECU and other C-USA schools have limited opportunities of getting in the Big East. If that is the case, I'm sure you're going to be repeating yourself to the vast majority of posters in this forum, not just me. I'm not the first one to come up with that opinion.

Enjoy the forum my friend, and welcome to the madness.

P.S. I'm a UCF grad, I live(d) in Raleigh so I know all about ECU and how great their fans are, and I root like hell for Penn State. Be careful how you label people because you never know if they are your ally or not until you get to know them. Just because "I Root For: Penn State" is under my profile doesn't mean I'm not upset about the fact that C-USA schools are about to get shut-out of this realignment. I'm entitled to that opinion just like you and others are entitled to insult me for my opinion. Just don't expect me to go out of my way to fire insults back at you if that's what you're looking for.

Definitely not. I've just been researching the market opportunities for certain schools who might fit the bigeast mold. We all see how the proposed remnant teams of the big12 do when their fans see them play in a quality conference. Think about how Ecu draws 49600 (99.6% capacity) a game playing in the cusa, could you imagine how many more fans we could pull playing in a real conference? I know we already get higher TV ratings than NC state. It would bring a whole new game to NC.

I'm not at all convinced we know how this is going to play out. The ACC has been very quiet, and if the SEC goes to 16, I can't image the Big East makes it out unscathed.

Another anti-memphis thread from miko? 04-jawdrop I'm shocked. Then again, it has been awhile since his previous one.

Way to perpetuate a myth about our conference's fanbase.

I could see Memphis limping into the Big 12 it were to still exist less OU/OState to Pac, and 2/3/4 teams still head to BE, while Texas remains in Big 12 and recruits some teams to remain a conference.

As much as it pains me...I agree totally. CDOA will still be CDOA when this is over. Miko is going to be the happiest poster on this board.03-lmfao

RE: Memphis is screwed
There are two ways that Memphis would really get screwed in all of this. One is that they get left out of a BCS/superconference departure from the NCAA. The other is if the NCAA allows conferences to choose whether they want to offer cost of living scholarships and whatever conference Memphis is in chooses not to offer them. Otherwise, the situation for Memphis doesn't necessarily get any worse.

ECU isn't screwed. They may not get into an AQ league anytime soon, but as long as we have 50k fans coming a game we aren't screwed in the least. We have a fan base that many AQ's wish they had, and we are making money, so we are fine. Obviously we could make more money and grow into the largest FB fanbase in the state in an AQ conference, but it wouldn't surprise me to see us drawing the most fans in the state of NC within the next 10-15 years with or without AQ membership.

Everyone in the non Aq's are screwed. This part of shake up is shaking out as badly as it can for outsiders. What hope we had of 5-16 is likely gone. Everyone no outside will stay there and 3 or 4 on inside will eventually be on the outside looking in. Baylor and Iowa st are in worst position, Cincy, and USF are on thin ice long term as well.

Doesn't matter, This is going down as bad as it could for all BE/B12 want to be. The BE will end up at 12/20 without any CUSA schools, and they will be picked apart in the next go round. ECU, UCF, Houston, SMU, and Memphis are done and are proud members of cusa.
