RE: Marshall D targeting Keenum?
Its a message board. We're not here looking for people's approval or respect...let's talk some football and stop acting like FIVE year olds!

This is such a non-story I can't even begin to respect anyone who is even bothered by this.

Having lived in Houston I am taken by the irony of anyone from there calling anyone else a thug.

I don't even...

Not to take either side, but do you really think anyone here cares about your respect?

Not a big worry, Ashworth is better than Curry and Case is plenty mobile. You can count on one thing though, the gloves are definitely going to be off tomorrow.

keenum didn't need bulletin board material. He's practically a pro at this point. All this did was fire up the guys around him to play harder. They'll put at least 40 on marshall.

Could these Houston fans possibly cry anymore? Instead of reading the article written by the Houston writer, how about reading the original article where it CLEARLY is stated that nothing "below the belt" is intended. They simply want to rattle Keenum. I can understand why you guys are trying to make more out of this, though. The last time we played you guys were big favorites and got the "what-fer." Your anxiety is well-founded.

The gloves are off? What's that supposed to mean? What are you saying? That's playing dirty. Gloves aren't optional!

I like Marshall's defensive attitude. In fact, I hope Southern Miss' has the same one. You can keep your patty-cake defenses all to yourselves, I've seen first-hand what that's like ...

How would we have liked it if someone had said that about Chad or Byron! They could have got their point across in a better way. But still love my Herd!

saying it's going to be a chippy game on both sides, and if we get a lead we won't call of the dogs like we tend to do

Ask ECUs QBs about our patty-cake defense.

You big cry baby! I don't think those quotes were said in a way to intentionally hurt Keenum. I think they are saying that the key to the game is trying to slow him down or take away some things defensively that he likes to do on offense.

Ask ECUs QBs about our patty-cake defense.

Not a good comparison. Our OL is among the worst in college football, and our OC is as predictable as the sun. If a D can't tee off on our qb's then it's sad.

I just think you guys are reading to much into it IMO.

RE: Marshall D targeting Keenum?
And to follow up my last post....Nowhere in that article do you see any of those guys say they are going to try anything illegal like "We're gonna try and break his neck"...or "We're gonna try and take out is knees"....etc. They don't say anything like that. That's why I think you guys are reading to much into it.

Football is a physical sport. If they can get to the QB, make a good clean tackle that ends up knocking him out of the game so be it. I guarantee that the Houston defense will try and hit our QB as hard as they can in a legal way as well. It's no different. I'm watching Syracuse knocking the **** out of Geno Smith tonight but they are doing it under the rules. It's possible that if Geno doesn't get some more protection that he will be knocked out of tonight's game. It's football fellas....not table tennis. Lighten up.

RE: Marshall D targeting Keenum?
You Houston crybabies watching any of the wvu syracuse game? See how 'cuse is lining up and and putting hits on Geno Smith? Is it dirty? No. Is it throwing him off his game? Yes.

That's what we're talking about here.

And for you guys saying "read the article" why don't you go read the actual article instead of the rip off job done by rivals? All the quotes are pulled from a Herald Dispatch article (of course with no credit given because Rivals is a hack site anyway). The quotes aren't altered, but all the inflamatory language surrounding it is by the Rivals writer to cast a different tone on the story.

"And that's the entire idea.

"We want to punish those guys," said Gale. "Nothing dirty, but we do want to find out who the backup quarterback is every game."

Man up, Houston fans. I am sure your QB doesn't mind, that's what he expects every week.

RE: Marshall D targeting Keenum?
I have a sneaky suspicion that if you guys hit Case as much as Cuse is hitting Smith you'll wind up with a bunch of roughing the passer penalties. Some guys are more protected than others.
