RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
Is Fear the Walking dead worth the watch?

Is it a spinoff?

I think I started and episode a long time ago but never kept with it.

The first 2 seasons are just okay, then I feel like the show found itself in the 3rd season and actually became better than what we're getting right now with the original. It's a totally different cast with no relation to Rick's crew, but set in the same world.

That is interesting. Did I read that there was a show that takes place at the beginning of the outbreak?

Not really much difference...where The Walking Dead starts with Rick waking up and goes from there. Which would probably been in the first week of the outbreak. Fear The Walking Dead starts about a week earlier....

It shows the outbreak on the street with a news clip and moves fairly quick to the point where everything breaks down. Basically gives you the cast in real life before moving to get away from the Zombies. The back story is shown first where the walking dead is flash backs.

I personally like both and one is set on the east coast and the other the west coast. The west coast has the female version of Rick.

I enjoy both. I like TWD better, but FTWD isnt bad and has been slowly improving.

Takes on Sunday's episode? I thought it was strange that they did the thing where they showed the character's name. Almost like they were showing chapters or something.

Saw speculation Negan appearing in the future vision may be indication of divergence from comic, i.e. Negan joins Hilltop after his defeat. Also speculation that it could go the other way, instead of taking Negan prisoner, Rick kills him. Hopefully this wraps up by season's end. I will say 2nd episode of season 8B was more engaging than premier.

I actually liked this last episode, except for Rick's typical idiocy. If Rick was killed off, this would likely become a pretty decent show again.

Well---they have pretty much killed off 2 groups in the last few episodes. The Kingdom is all but gone and now the Salvage Dump folks are history.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
The show appears to be drifting far away from the comic. Obviously with Carl's death, but Carl and Rick capture Negan, seeing Negan taken prisoner by Jadis looks like the story turns even further from the comic. I guess she could always turn Negan over to Rick for a chance to join his community. It also appears the show jumped ahead skipping the next comic villains "The Whispers".

Show runners are setting expectations high for season finale which will include the final battle with the saviors, introduction of new characters and potentially some departures from The Hilltop. It sounds like going their own way, maybe Morgan's departure.

Thats just what the show does. For instance, there is no Daryl in the comic. Daryl just proved to be really popular and they have kept him around. In terms of story lines, they tend to have Daryl carry out story lines that actually belong to different characters in the comic. My guess is they will do the same thing with Carl. Any Carl story line that significantly affects the overall show narrative will get picked up by another character. Since Daryl doesnt exist in the comic--AND he is a major character in Ricks TV group---he probably will end up being the favored vehicle for most of Carls key story lines.

It doesnt really matter---but the comic book fans have always assumed that Carl is the "writer". But since Rick met up with Carl and Daryl at the same time after the plague---Daryl could be the "story teller" for the TV show.

I'm gonna guess they wind this show up after they kill Negan and jump the characters ahead in time with the society created by the people in the van that gave them that book of knowledge on windmills, etc. Everyone lives happily ever after. The end.

"Spoiling Dead" hints there will be one surprise death in this week's episode, and after Rick is wounded in a fight with saviors he begins to wonder if his wound was caused by a tainted weapon when he sees others turn. Finally Maggie hints she may leave after they defeat the saviors.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
So rubbing dead blood all over you in the post apocalyptic world to hide yourself from walkers, where you have scratches and cuts all over from running for your life all the time, doesn't make you sick, but getting grazed by a tainted arrow and you're done?

Injured people die all the time and attack the living, but no one watches the infirmary or locks the door to the house in case the saviors come back that night to finish the job?

No one keeps an eye on the brat that already expressed his intentions and has an unhealthy obsession with weapons?

This is first year BS, when they are learning to survive and you lose some people so the others can take them as an example of what not to do. This isn't year 8 material where they have redundant security to prevent crap like this from happening ever again. Why do they make seasoned survivors die like total dumbasses?

The only way anyone left should die from walkers, ever, is if they are involuntarily thrown into a mass of them. And if I'm sleeping in that world, I've got a knife in one hand. Something grabs me in the middle of the night it's getting a new hole in it's face. This show is asinine.
