How come they jump all over PITT when they lost to UTAH and when OU just got destroyed in its biggest game, no one is bitching about the B12? Where are all those CUSA posters?

1. Why aren't they bitching OU is overrated and dont deserve to be in the BCS game?
2. How come no one is bitching that B12 dont deserve the auto bid?
3. Why should OU get a free pass and PITT get critizied every day?

Anyone? Anyone?

Why isn't the ACC being bashed as well. The team it sent to the BCS finished 9-3.

Why so defensive and why point out C-USA fans? I, personally, have no problem with the Big East having an automatic BCS bid right now. However, C-USA fans aren't the only folks in the world saying that the Big East doesn't deserve one. Many imparitial sportscasters, sports writers and analysts all over the country have said said the same thing.

I'm more of a BCS basher than a basher of any conference.....until Division I-A has a playoff like HS, NFL, and every other college football division, it will continue to be a joke of all jokes when crowning a champion.....

There is not such thing as an impartial sportscaster, sports writer or analyst.

You mean the same impartial sportscasters, sports writers and analyst that gave the ACC a free pass when they were sending 7-4 teams to BCS bowls and couldn't average Top 12 rankings? Besides, those "impartial" people forget that Louisville is considered part of the Big East and finished 10th in the BCS bowl and 7th and 8th (probably higher) in the human polls.

I heard Mike Tirico say it and he's a graduate of SYRACUSE.

There's really no point in arguing about this anyway. I already said that I have no problem with the Big East having their bid right now. In the next few months the BCS is going to announce their new "formula" for conferences mainiting their automatic BCS bids. After the new "formula" is announced we can argue all we want about whether or not the "formula" is fair, but at least we'll know what the Big East and other BCS conferences need to do to maintain those automatic bids.

Good grief 3601,

ESPN cashes Tirico's paycheck, the same ESPN that owns the ACC. Yea, Tirico is an impartial observer of college football. And pigs fly.

Are you impartial? The bottom line is that college football is going to change over the next decade. Nobody knows where it will end up. Some people think the 6 current BCS conferences will split away from the non-BCS conferences. Some people think we'll have a 16 team playoff to replace the bowls. Some people think we'll have a 2 or 4 team playoff AFTER the bowls. Some people think the Big East will lose its BCS bid. Some people think Notre Dame will go to the Big East. Some people think the Mountain West will get a BCS bid.

I have no idea what will happen. Nobody does for sure. I just hope my school doesn't get screwed in the process.

Catsclaw, Waco;

3601 has clearly stated that he has no problem with the BE auto bid. I'd suggest that you go find someone else to pick on. Good grief, he's on your side - this is just bizarre.

Old Tiger,

3601 made a comment about the "impartiality" of Mike Tirico. I was simply countering that claim.

Whole point this if they gonna bash BE and its auto bid, they need to bash all those "non-deserving" conferences like B12, ACC and others. This is BS when B12 champ goes to the championship game and got destroyed. The game was over before halftime. This game is more ridiculas than Pitt vs. Utah game. At least Pitt had a chance when 2nd half begun.

I just think singling out BE all season is pitful.

This year you have to label the Big 10 as a nondeserving conference.

that would be the end of college football.......

60 schools would be in, but the fans of every other school would turn their backs, tv's, and dollars away from a crap setup like that......I hardly watch the BCS now, but would never watch one game that involved the 6 conferences after that......I think the playoff is what we are headed for, but only 8 games max.......

my only hope is that all of the smaller bowls still have bowl games, which I think will happen given the money involved.....

I agree Hoops Dreams. It would be silly for the BCS leagues to break-away from the non-BCS leagues. There is a lot of outstanding football that gets played in C-USA, MWC, and the MAC for that matter. But if that happens, it very well be that you will see six, twelve team leagues, or 72 teams comprising the BCS. So if you look at it that way, there are currently seven slots available (1 Big Ten, 2-Pac 10, 4 Big East). Assuming that Notre Dame takes the Big 10 slot, there are 6 spots available. The question then becomes who gets the 2 Pac 10 spots, and who gets the 4 Big East slots.

I think this is possible, but unlikely. If it does occur, I certainly hope that Memphis can get one of the four Big East spots.

3601,

I hope that Memphis is the 9th Big East school.

1. Most are, of course USC likely would have went triple digits against any team from the Big Least...including the All-Big Least team.
2. Because they have shown over the years they deserve it. The 2004 version of the Big Least hadn't, and still hasn't. It ain't looking promising for the 2005 version either.
3. OU earned it's way in with a 12-0 record before the game against a tough schedule. Pitt struggled to a 8-3 record, including an overtime win over 1-AA Furman, and losses to abad Nebraska and a weak Syracuse team.

If you can't see the difference between Pitt and Oklahoma then you are seriously out of touch with reality.
