-- Just looking up the stats of the Army/Navy game....attendance was somewhere in the 67,000 + range.....the only teams in the east (outside of Penn St) that have that kind of drawing power are West Virginia and Pitt and usually only when they play each other

-- I'm sure the TV ratings are just as impressive...if the BE is truely committed to the growth of a regional eastern football conference as MT has stated....this is a game/schools that must be included under the conference banner in someway...Army/Navy have drawing power that no other schools that are available to us have...as the author of the orginal rumor said...competivness is not the issue...TV dollars/appeal to the bowls is

Agreed. Need to bring Army/Navy into the BE fold. They are both in the East and both have great fans. It would be good to see BE teams playing them year in and year out. Army/Navy rivalry will be one of the best in the nation.

Let's say the Big East adds Army/Navy and expands to 10......The conference could play a round robin 9 game football schedule on a 12 game schedule. The Army/Navy game would be part of the Big East package, and billed as the championship game just like the Miami/VT game used to be.

Army/Navy in the Big East would be great for Rutgers, UConn, and Syracuse would would draw well for the academies. Navy can certainly compete in the Big East. Army would be filler for a while.

Time for Mike T to get this done. Army/Navy would be a great addition to the BE. Especially with the 12 game schedule, all league members need one more guranteed game.

-- Amen....it would also be a good thing for Pitt/WVU fans who want to head over to watch their schools @ Navy....Navy will have a guranteed sell out every time that play WVU at home
