nflsucks Wrote:Utah is matched against Pitt because the bowl that normally host the Big East champion is the national championship this year. Therefore putting the Big East (and ACC champ) into the at large pool. Were Auburn ahead of Oklahoma in the BCS or if the Big 12 leader were not in the national title hunt, the Fiesta would host the B12 champ, thus putting Oklahoma vs. Utah hypothetically and Pitt in the Sugar against Miami/Virginia Tech.

This is just the Fiesta getting 'stuck' with the Big East champ, I assure you there were no higher ups demanding the Big East face the mid-major school TopCoog. Believe me, the Fiesta would not willingly take this matchup if they could get a more attractive one.

Nice try though.
The funny thing is that there were some projections that had Boston College playing Miami (the projected ACC champion), in another bowl. To say that they purposely put the Big East in the Feista Bowl is ridiculous. One bowl is taken by the national championship, the other bowl is conference affiliated, the other is the Rose Bowl. So where is the Big East champion SUPPOSED to go?

If Oklahoma were one notch lower in the BCS (or if they lose to Colorado) , we'd be represented in the Sugar Bowl. I'm sure TopCoog would disagree with that, but facts have never stood in his way before, I doubt they'd start to now.

By his theories we'd also be receiving a decreased payout. Is that still gonna happen TopCoog? I need a laugh.

Exactly. Look what happened with Kansas State last year beating Oklahoma. Pitt is going to be a Top 15 team in the human polls, a Top 20 team in the BCS polls. If Colorado beats Oklahoma, does that mean that the Big East would still be matched against a non-BCS? Or what would have happened if Utah hadn't MADE the BCS? Because, even with the rule changes, it isn't a lock that a non-BCS school will be playing in a BCS bowl.

Pitt is a joke as a BCS team and everyone of you know it. The pundits are having a field day with this. There is no shame on this board.

The only joke is you have the nerve to come to our board and lecture us about OUR conference. Your just lucky the moderater of this board lets you post at all. If this was the CUSA you would have been banned already. Than again after reading some of your posts I believe Sandman keeps you around for comedy effect.

NBE does not have to worry about losing a bid to NCUSA in particular. Lets compare teams:
USF: better than UCF, SMU, Tulsa, Tulane, Rice, Tulsa, Marshall and even the overrated UTEP
Louisville is one of the Top 5 Teams in the Country will remain there as long as they can keep Petrino
Cincinatti is better than all the new CUSA teams, they just need to find a new QB
West Virginia and Pitt are better than all of the NCUSA teams
Syracuse is an enigma b/c Coach P sucks, but hopefully after their Bowl Game he will be thrown out.
Rutgers has shown improvement
UConn has potential

NBE will keep their BCS slot and if a conference is going to challenge them for it, it would be the MWC.

Agreed, Pitt is a joke of a team and unworthy of BCS inclusion, but that's not the point of this thread. The point was you gloating about the false statement that this was a mandated Big East vs. Mid-major game, which was promptly disproven. And your theory also states that these two teams will be receiving a significantly reduced payout, I believe to the tune of 3-4 million dollars each. Still stand by that?

And by the way, I'm sure you think everyone hates you because you're always right (or at least in your own little world), but coming on here and bashing the Big East BCS rep for no other reason than to be bashing the Big East rep will probably not win you any popularity contests, this being a Big East board and all.
