UC is playing some of the best football I have seen in ages. Amazing. It's going to be a hell of a game at Papa John's. Last time UC was up there they won so they won't be intimidated. We know how good Louisville is, but for UC to hold up their end of the bargain and tempt ESPN into showing the game helps the Big East a ton.

It's shaping up to be a fourth quarter nail biter. Congrats to Coach D. for putting it all together in his first year. With that said, Go Cards!

Louisville has definitely got the Ad, but we've got some possibilities.

The fight for the Keg of Nails is more than just a game. These two schools have a lot of love going a ways back. So, rivalry tends to level the field a bit.

I still think if I were putting money down I'd put it on the Cards. I'm just hoping Cincy gives you some nasty surprises so you don't start thinking you're too good for us. We're coming on fast, and we look to continue to be best friends and lifelong buddies in the Big East too. :D

congrats bearcats,

I've always loved the game between cincy and the ville! no matter what each schools records where. Its just a fun game between to rivals, with close proximity.

As for the keg, it looks perfect where its currently housed and staying (in our trophy case)

lets get it on! 04-cheers

Considering UC hadn't gone to a bowl game in 50 years (literally), I think we're fortunate to have the fans that we have. As much as people hate it, it's going to take time to build up the fan base. I said this somewhere else, but if Pitt were in C-USA for the last 10 years they would be drawing the same number of fans we draw. When you play in a major sports town surrounded by major football conferences you need to even the odds. Playing in a major conference is something you can sell to the fan base. Trying to sell the fan base on C-USA when you have the Big Ten on one side and the SEC on another and pro sports in the middle isn't the easiest thing to do.

You have arguably the 4th hottest non-BCS team at the moment. Your team was one win away from becoming bowl eligible for the fourth time in five years. You have a new 'name' coach from your in-state rivals tOSU. Your team has outscored three Conference USA opponents by a combined 122-54 score, two of which are (now were) the second and third best teams in conference.

Now comes yesterday, Saturday, against not simply a current conference foe, but a soon-to-be Big East conference foe. It was a nice sunny afternoon. And what happens? You get 19,309 paid attendance and at best 15,000 actual bodies in their seats.

Something's not right about that. And I don't think simply playing in the Big East will resolve it. It's something internal to the University of Cincinnati and its relationship with the city of Cincinnati. And whatever it is, it needs fixing post haste. Because of winning, playing well, and reaching bowl games doesn't resolve it, I don't see how coming to the Big East is going to either.

Cheers,
Neil
