The answer is no.

The Big East has no interest in Buffalo or Temple (after this season). It's questionable how long those two teams will even remain Div. 1-A as it is.

Additionally, there no MAC schools on the Big East's radar at this time.

Why does this guy have the USF BUll icon up with his name?

This is the question that inquiring minds want to know!

I would rule out Buffalo and Akron because of poor attendance. What about Toledo though? They have good support, and a good tradition.

NIU is in the Chicago market with over 200,000 alums nearby. Its a beast waiting to happen. And a top 25 ranking this week.

East Division
West Virginia
Rutgers
UConn
Syracuse
South Florida
Pittsburgh

West Division
Louisville
Toledo
Marshall
Ohio
Northern Illinois
Cincinnati

solid 9 team conference...good football...good basketball...and the other 8 basketball schools can form their own good conference.

Memphis may not be in the "Footprint" of the Big East, but, I would like Memphis as a BE member. Good Hoops and exciting basketball...... Plus USF has a history with Memphis............. 04-cheers

for the Big East i simply don't see a 8 team football and 16 team b-ball conference working...i see the conference splitting...and when it does a football/basketball team will be needed and i think Memphis is and will be the best team willing to move to the Big East...i think Geography will have little to do with it.

Be honest Wilkie01, if you are PSU or ND would care to associate with Memphis or South Miss?

There is no doubt in my mind that we have to add some more school after the split but do we have to have 12-schools conference?

Guys...if the miracle of miracles happen and PSU and ND would join....we really don't need to go to 12....our TV money would increase dramatically at 10......the only two schools that would fit into the region of a league that was described above would be Boston College and Maryland.....and I don't see that ever happening...even with PSU and ND on board

An interesting scenario would be if the NCAA decided to create 12 conferences with 12 teams each based on geography. Now obviously it would be hard to get all the top tier teams in your conference so you would have to take some just based solely on basketball or just the fact that they are in the region. You could possibly have something like this...

WVU
Marshall
Louisville
UK
VPI
Virginia
Pitt
Penn State
Tennessee
Memphis
ECU
Wake Forest
