I, for one, am really looking forward to the addition of Pitt and Syracuse to the ACC. I am a BC fan and I know that the Eagles are the other "new kid on the block" but I think moving to the ACC was the best thing Boston College has done in a long time.
As a matter of fact, the biggest beneficiary of the Syracuse and Pitt additions (other than Syracuse and Pitt) is BC. It will be great for the Eagles to get a couple of teams that we some historical tradition with back on the schedule.
I would love to see the BC v Syracuse game get slotted in for the day after Thanksgiving every year.
I think Syracuse and Pitt make great fits for the ACC and will help solidify the entire Eastern Seaboard for the Conference.
Speaking as a relatively recent addition to the Conference, I think that some of the founding members of the ACC (UNC, Duke, UVA etc) can be a little slow to accept the new teams. I know that Coach K, for instance, was slow to get on board with expansion. I think that considering the direction college athletics are going, however, the ACC has done a great job of "keeping up with the Joneses". The ACC really is positioned to be the dominant East Coast conference. The fact that the ACC had better foresight and planning is the reason that we are all uniting under the ACC banner as opposed to the Big East banner. I think that is a good thing as well because the association with Universities like UNC, UVA, Duke and Wake Forest is great for everyone involved.
