Politics sucks...
...in recent years, everyone simply "HATES" one another for some stupid reason, and as a result, our Govt is becoming a total-joke.

Look, Jefferson & Adams had FAR more striking & serious, FUNDAMENTAL differences than anyone in politics today...

...and they could hash it out... and go have a DRINK after the session.

We have lost one key All-American political component: Statesmanship.

The other side isn't EVIL, they just have a difference of opinion.

If we fail as a nation, it will be because people bought-into this culture war nonsense & didn't try to elect lawmakers who espouse STATESMANSHIP.

or at the very least settle their differences like hamilton and burr. whatever happened to dueling? andrew jackson is my favorite democrat of all time because he dueled. good ole hickory. there are two towns in particular that would be great for dueling, should it ever come back into fashion. miamitown, ohio (near cincinnati) and metamora, indiana. i'm very sure there are others, these are two that are close to me and dear to my heart.

You cannot fit statesmanship in a 30-second (or less) sound bite. Gone are the days when Tip O'Neil and Ron Reagan could fight all day, eat dinner and play cards all evening.

Getting rid of the haters would help, but then you'd have to remove all 536 elected officials, their staffs and cronies...wait, that's not such a bad idea...
