Everyone talking about having at least 7 Home Games and still manage to have a strong SOS esp outside of the ACC makes me think its time to expand the season by at least 1 week.

I do know that almost every school has a big time game outside of the ACC that puts asses in the seats. Clemson has USC(east), Georgia Tech has Georgia, Florida State has Florida and so on.

With a 13 week season, the ACC could have a 9 week conference schedule still w/ the OOC room to schedule 2 Big Name OOC opponents and have 2 Cupcakes to start the year. With this scenario teams should be able to school at least 7 home games a year with the chance of 8.

With a 14 week season, the ACC should expand to a 10 week conference schedule with the ability of each team to schedule 2 Big Name OOC games with the ability of scheduling 2 cubcakes. With this scenario if you don't get 7 home games its your own fault, and if you play your cards right you're able to have 9 home games.

I agree but I think the opening season should start a week earlier.

I agree that since they are revamping the NCAA rules this year anyway...
1) they should expand the season to 13 regular season games.
2) I don't care if it starts 1 week earlier or if they move all of the championship games back 1 week, as long as all conferences do it the same way.
3) Also, with 13 games it should take 7 wins to be bowl eligible.
4) Finally, media rights for the extra game should be the property of the home team - do not roll it into the existing contracts.

The reason I ask is if they schedule smart they could be eligible for the ACC and CAA, Big South, or SoCon championships all in one year.

The season has gotten earlier and earlier. When I first went to Carolina the season did not start until the third week in September, now Labor Day weekend.
I liked Dabo's idea of playing another team to end spring practice. It becomes a money maker and does not extend the season.

Well if they decide to do that then I say they must have an 8 win season to go to a Bowl.

Well, I can say with almost 100% certainly that PSU will still not play Pitt on an annual basis even with a 50 game season.

I think the thinking is changing slightly at Penn State. We'll have to see if that means they're truly open to renewing the rivalry with us after 2017.

I've got some pretty good contacts at both PSU and Pitt, so I believe the series will be resumed on some sort of regular basis, building on the currently scheduled 2016/2017 set of games. Certainly, Peterson is optimistic, and on this issue, I agree with his optimism.

Yea, I was proposing adding a game or 2 to the current 12 Game schedule.

You better increase scholarship limits to 95 or 100.

We have enough trouble getting through 12 games with enough healthy bodies.

It's not going to happen on a regular basis. With 8 conference games and 1 Pac12 game a season, they aren't going to dedicate another game every season to playing us.

And I doubt that Pitt is going to commit to playing 9 ACC games, ND, and PSU every season.

Actually I think Pitt would love that arrangement. Only the SEC has to play 3 cupcakes. Only playing 8 conference games with 14 teams is a joke. They will only see the opposite division schools at home once every 12 years.

If we went to a 13-game regular season, that would make 9 conference games a lot more palatable. It would leave each team with 4 OOC games once again, so they could do this:
1 BCS home
1 BCS road
1 FBS mid-major home
1 FCS home

NOTE: To prevent teams from skewing the revenue too much, I think they'd have to add a rule about no more than 8 home games per year or something like that.
