ACC vs OOC, 2004-2011
I just finished analyzing all ACC football games vs FBS conferences since 2004 and posted it all on my blog. A few interesting results I didn't realize:

A couple of good teams are winless against multiple lesser conferences, and two teams have lost 9 games each to lower conferences.

Duke & Wake keep beating their heads against the Alabamas, Baylors & Stanfords of the world.

We all need to do better (Va Tech included).

EDIT: corrected title of link

RE: ACC vs OOC, 2004-2011
Wake split 2 game series with RGIII led Baylor and Andrew Luck led Stanford. Breaking even against those teams is a net positive for the ACC in my opinion. Also we had a higher win percentage against Ole Miss in the SEC going 2-0 than Vanderbilt.

I also think ACC fans should resist the temptation to refer to the SEC, Big Ten, PAC 12 and Big XII as the "Big Four". There are five power conferences it doesn't help our image when our own fans use a term denigrating the ACC.

Excellent points!
I agree that Wake has held their own against stiff competition.
Also, I like you comment about terminology - I will edit my blog immediately.

I would like to point out that you don't have vs. Notre Dame represented in your analysis. I'm pretty sure at least BC played ND a bunch of times between 2004 and present.

Much of the losses are the result of GT, CU, and FSU doing poorly against their rivals ... and lesser ACC teams getting owned while they were in the cellar (Duke, NCST, UVA, BC).

Good catch! In fact, this is just the 1st of a 3-part series. Next Thursday morning I'll do ACC vs. FBS independents (mainly Notre Dame). Next Saturday night I'll do ACC vs. FBS (should be 100% wins, but sadly, it isn't).
