4.)Wake Forest
5.)Boston College

Generally agree with your selections, I would emphasize Clemson as "1a" as I agree that they or FSU is likely to take the ACC Championship. I'm also leaning towards GATech ahead of UVA, and Miami switching with UNC.

Of note: Syracuse goes undefeated in the ACC this fall! You heard it here, folks. Rumor has it that Pitt will also go undefeated in the ACC this fall, too, if so, this sets up the "Battle of the 'Almost ACC' Championship" game October 5 in the Carrier Dome, 7:00 p.m. Eastern, on ESPN.

In your dreams, cHokie Mark! (Smack talk off - just warming up for 2013)

I forgot about that game. I'll have to cheer on Pitt so the "Battle of the 'Almost ACC' Championship" will have two 'undefeated' (by ACC teams) face off. Nothing personal, we just need to get as much mileage out o fthe game as possible.

Everyone seems to underestimate the Canes this year. I think we'll finish better than 5th in the division this year... and I fully expect a win against either FSU or VT!

In fact aren't those both home games for the 'Canes?

Yes both are. We've got a good home stretch with NCSU, then versus Notre Dame in Chicago, followed by UNC, FSU, and VT. Should be interesting to see how that swath of games plays out.

FWIW - Is Miami eligible for the BCS championship? (Just asking)

I believe so. The only major penalties that have been assessed so far are the ones that the U has self-imposed (bowl ban for last year) and the NCAA suspended a few players last year. But honestly this year, Miami winning the title? A pipe dream, more than anything. There haven't been any major announcements from the NCAA regarding BCS eligibility, and until they do come that status I believe remains unchanged.
