Boise State has slim-to-zero chance at the PAC-12 for a variety of reasons. If FB was the overwhelming criteria they'd be in, but...

so, he thinks that the same p12 that was, lets say, "reluctant" on some b12 teams would be ok with boise state. hmmm

My exact same thought when I heard his comments. I'm just tired of pompous commentators in general who take pop shots at the BE with absolutely zero evidence, with the hope of denigrating and devaluing the BE. Upcoming TV contracts or not, it's wrong, and I wish more people would stand up to these a-holes.

Hopefully getting a new SHERIFF in town will do just that (fight fire with FACTS)...because that's something the old Sheriff's never did.

I'm honestly to the point where I feel this interim commish is staying quiet because he's been promised a cush job with a power conference's office. Otherwise he's just absent and should be fired anyways.

Calm down, no conference addresses radio talk show hosts. Seriously. It's not the commissioners job to be the public defender against every yahoo with a microphone.

Agreed. Selection of a new commish is CRUCIAL. I actually don't mind seeing the search take some additional time, as long as it's a case of getting the right man, as opposed to bumbling and wasting time.

Brando takes a lot of liberties when it comes to the Big East. As others have said, he's an SEC shill during football season, ACC shill (via Raycom) for men's basketball. He tried to make the conference a running joke in both pre-game & halftime highlights of SEC games.

Same goes for Tony Barnhart at times. I used to find him knowledgeable and fairly impartial when ESPN used to have him on College Gameday as a correspondent as a full-timer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. More of a reporter in those segments than giving his opinion. Now as a full-timer at CBSSports.com and a freelancer for the SEC, he's tossed his impartial qualities out the window.

Lot of respect to Boise as an athletic program and it sounds like Kustra has been working towards increasing the academic profile too, but its a ways to go before the Pac-12 would have them on their radar.

The thing is, Brando's comments are not a compliment to Boise State, but rather, a slap in the face that anybody credible in football will ever play for the Big East.

Big East fans will need to develop a really thick skin over the next couple years and wait for play on the field to silence critics. However look for the ACC to be the new whipping boy...

But don't look for the BIGGEST voice in sports, let alone in college sports, ESPN, to be leading that charge...as ESPN has 2.6 Billion reasons (as in dollars) and 15 years to keep the ACC afloat, at all costs.

Those outside ESPN (small newspapers, etc...) can fire away all day at the ACC...but it might end up being lil peashooters firing at a bullet proof armor truck...it will never get through.
