Every week that goes by our potential record drops a game or two. What is going on? We're losing players left and right. I'm starting to think 4-8 would be a good record this year. Before all the losses I was thinking 7-5 was realistic.

Don't start panicking guys. Look at all the players OU has lost in the first 2 weeks of practice. I know we can't compare to them as far as depth, but it is something every program has to deal with on a yearly basis, so get used to it. Time to put the big boy pants on & go to work!

I had stated this before that if we have one or two injuries to anyone of the starters, and you know it is going to happen, our offense will be in terrible shape. I'm not in panic mode but being realistic that we may have a hard time winning 3 to 4 games. We have lost 3 OL this year, Mason, Phillips, and Alvarez. In the 2010 recruiting class, we only had 2 OL signed. This has come back to bite us big time. We better recruit 7 OL this year and keep the jucos to a minimum. We lose Hoog next year and there is no one to replace him. We better start going after OL like they go after db's.

You are right about them needing to go after OL like they go after DBs. I think they will, & I think we will still see a mix of JUCO & HS players. But we will hurt big time if we have more than 2 serious injuries.

The "injury bug" is never a welcomed visitor to any sports team, especially football. UAB's had some lingering OL concerns in recent weeks as well, but like you guys, we're gonna mount up and ride. Hope y'all can stay healthy from here on out.

Well, with our Left tackle position being thin, I guess we are going to see plenty of Carter, maybe Polite too, after Soza gets the lights knocked out of him. It might be time for us diehards to huddle up and take the beating.

I've got my hand over the panic button guys, just tell me when to press.

RE: Coker contemplates moves to shore up offensive line
Coker wants to shore up the OL by moving some defensive players to the OL. May I suggest Dominque Henderson. He really has not done a lot at DL so maybe with a new position he could find his way to being a starter. He's big enough at 6'3", 280 lbs. Another DL guy that could make the move would be the freshman Brickman who played OL at the high school level. Those are my two picks for the move to the OL. But man we should all be on our knees praying to the good Lord that none of the starting OL get injured or we will have to endure a very long, long season. If you think our running game had problems last year just wait when we average 60 yards a game with 7-10 sacks. As Yankee was saying, Carter and Polite better be ready in the likely event Soza goes down. We don't want to be know as the Chicago Bears of 2010 when they allowed around 60 sacks, with a high of 12 against the Giants.
