With the two games versus you fellows in our first 2 years, and the fact we'll be playing annually after that; ODU is going to be the longest continuous series we'll have in football, getting a two year head start on eveyone else in CUSA. We're both joining CUSA the same year, we're both still start-ups (at least by most "established" teams fans' definition) and our universities both have crowns for logos.

We need to be playing for a trophy. What do you guys think?

I don't know about anyone else, but I like it!

I was reading this on Ninernation, but those images are awesome, haven't seen those before. I love the idea. The Crown Cup, a great name. But, I think the trophy should be an actual cup...

The two universities' Student Government Associations should contact each other. Students at ODU should contact their student body presidents.

I think it should be an actual crown. Half silver and blue styled like ours and the other half gold and green styled like theirs on a removable base with the scores and such.

I think we can accommodate you with that.

It's a cool idea. Having a trophy on the line almost forces the game into a rivalry.

I'm on board. We should figure out how to do this.

Although after 10 years or so we'll just rename it the Wilder Cup since he's going to OWN it. :)

This is how NEW rivalries are born.

The whole "W&M vs. ODU" Mace and Crown battle is pretty much over and done with now, it's time to make new rivalries with our new conference mates.

I love this idea as Charlotte and ODU are both very similar schools with vast potential in urban areas and up and coming sports programs, particularly in football and soccer (and various other programs here and there) but both have ALWAYS been solid in basketball as well.

Maybe drop the Optima challenge with W&M and start a Wells Fargo challenge with Charlotte over the course of the season in all sports like we did with W&M? Plus also keep the single game trophy for football as something similar to what was mentioned above.

Love the idea and am glad to be playing Charlotte in all sports once again, an old rival and a GOOD rival.

I could also see one being started with Marshall "Battle of the Virginia's" (just spitballing an idea/jumping off point) or one with East Carolina as well.

The opportunities and potential in CUSA are VERY exciting, far more exciting than playing the crap leftovers in the CAA after VCU left.

Oooooohhhh W&M and JMU or ECU, Charlotte and Marshall......who would I rather start a rivalry with???? Let me think about that for .00000000000000001 seconds......CUSA. Can't wait.

The ECU one has some potential in the marketing area of Admirals (Navy) vs Pirates.
