I believe what UA and Rutgers have in common is that our basketball coaches both formerly coached at Kent State.
I remember Laing Kennedy (KSU ad) mentioning it taking "Rutgers and Arkansas" to steal their coaches away, and that demanded respect for their program.

calling_the_hogs, you're absolutely right. Heath replaced Waters after he came to RU. Gary Waters is doing a fantastic job at RU, hopefully Heath will do the same Arkansas. Who knows maybe we'll meet on the court one day.

I sure hope so. The crowds definitely are behind him. 9500 showed up for Midnight Madness here last weekend. He's already recruiting some big name guys (Olu Famitimi) and if he lands em, and wins, he'll never need another job again. Heck, he might not now..he's the 3rd highest paid coach in the SEC at 800k a year, without coaching a game for us.

That quote does make me and all RU fans feel good. We realized last year we got a good one and plan on having him around for a long time. Heath is doing an amazing job in recruiting and he's already proved that he can coach, you guys should be in good shape for a long time.
If we do ever face you guys hopefully its at the RAC, in NJ. Either way I think it would be a great game, with the Knights pulling it out of course... :)
Good Luck this season!!!

And both of you want to steer clear of the Golden Flashes!
It would be fun to run into one of you in the postseason this year--IF you can make it!
Our problem this year is nobody will schedule us. UC, Xavier, & Pitt all dropped.
So we won our first against an NAIA team--93-39.
We have reloaded!
Good luck to both RU and ARK! I'll be a distant fan!

Heath will have a tough first year b/c Nolan left the team with absolutely NO talent...we're talking only 25 pts coming BACK.
Give em 1-2 years...signing Famutimi and Brewer will make the HOGS a force to be reckoned with.
If we played this year...I'd give RU the edge...next year I wouldn't be too sure.... and you never wanna face us in 19,200 seat Walton Arena...it can get truly deafening when the HOGS are on.
Best of luck this season.

Heath put together a solid class...Thankfully coach Waters has too.
Walton Arena is awesome but I think we can handle it... The RAC doesn't hold as many but it gets awful loud. Ask Syracuse, UConn, Georgetown, and Notre Dame how intimidating it can be.
Good Luck to you guys too, I'll look in on your board every once in awhile and see how your doing.
Axeme, if your out there how are the Golden Flashes doing so far this season?
