okay...memphis football...response is perfecto

Would you prefer him to join you in dissing your coach?

really....because I don't have a legitimate gripe as a fan talking to fellow patrons....sorry for having an opinion while we are ofer...I do however understand your acceptance of such hiding behind the hoops (which I really do love and respect your program)...you really look silly with your responses sometimes...you guys should be sick about your football program with all of the advantages you have...I guess it just doesn't matter anymore to some of you...

How is the Memphis program in anyway responsible for you being upset because a USM player called you out for talking badly about his coach? You are certainly allowed to have an opinion in public. And a USM football player is also allowed to disagree with you in a public place.

What it sounds like is that you are throwing a hissy fit because someone called you out in public.

I'll stand up for Alford in this case. At least he confronted someone to their face about a problem instead of talking behind their backs in a bar.

It is one thing to disagree and another to threaten. As a player, you better be able to deal with shite like that. It is not his, nor my fault his surrogate father is in over his head. But that is fact and he needs to learn how to deal with adversity...because it is only going to get harder for him as he progresses....this isn't fkn petal high school and the coaches get paid...hence, the reason for the criticism....he is lucky it was me and not some pot bellied redneck that would've got in his face and knocked the shite out of him...I care more about the school's future than a prima donna that bailed on our baseball program...his character showed that day...remember, I didn't know he was there and am not certain it makes a difference...he needs to learn how to control the fire

Coaches are paid...and he is getting a free education. When you don't produce on the field?.....You are likely to hear more and more things you don't like. Make like an Umpire and ignore the chatter.

Sorry stink, but you are the dipshite here for making those comments in the first place.

Is Buckley a good OC? Hell no. Is Buckley in over his head? Hell yes. But he was never hired to be a OC. He simply stepped up to the position, as he was asked to do, to help the team because we hired a drunk as a OC.

The proper place to place our offensive woes is squarely on the head of our AD Jeff Hammond. He allowed Bustle to stay despite the fact that he is unable to fulfill the duties he was hired to do. He should have been fired and replaced on the spot.

I respect AA for defending his coach. Not a easy thing to do these days in the 'burg. Maybe he went over the line a bit, I won't fault him for that this time, he is a 18 year old kid.

This is our supposed savior....lost all respect for him after that (had none before as a player anyway)

This is our QB people....how times have changed

next time tell him that you would resign if you sucked that bad at your job and he should transfer to memphis. then start a huge food fight like in animal house.

...maybe I am (the dipshite)...like I said, I was on the fence with this one (go the beginning of the thread)...have no problem sticking up for the coach...but to threaten??...he is a lucky mfkr (for his future) I didn't get up in his face....since you are an EZ'r...just ask, okay...it was because he is OUR QB that I let it go...

to the Bustle point...you are right on the mark sir!

1. Buckley isn't making that much more than he was making at Petal. Maybe double. You make it sound like he went from crumbs to full packs of crackers.

2. You're completely and utterly clueless on everything else.

That is all.

"Bailed on the baseball team"

LOL.

I'm pretty sure Anthony Alford can hold his own. I just don't see some pot bellied red neck knocking the sh*t out of him.

18 year old players shouldn't be confronting 47 year old boosters at hot Hattiesburg lunch spots. Public place.

Original poster should have reported it to his school rather than posted it on a public message board.

Players shouldn't be tailgating with boosters before or after a game. NCAA might consider that to be an extra benefit.

I wish it was this easy. Bustle "sought help" for his "disease" before he could be fired and now is protected by our government's sometimes idiotic ADA.

He is a sick man and I would be keeping my players away from him if I were Memphis. You don't want a Sandusky type of scandal.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk. Just misunderstood you. My bad, Stinkfist. Love your username.

I've never been to Hattiesburg before. Just from the pool table leaning over 12:20 thing I immediately thought bar. Anywayyyyyy,

Is he intimidating at all or just kind of a quarterback kinda guy? My coach growing up went to Marshall with Byron Leftwich. He shook Leftwich's hand one day and said something along the lines of, "You're one of the best quarterbacks I've ever seen, but damn you're slow." Leftwich just looked down at him and said, "I'd beat your ass in a foot race." and walked away haha.

no probs mate....to be honest, I am 6' 3", 220 at 47 yrs...he is small...he seemed like a kid that is dealing with something for the first time in his life....and most assuredly so...that is the crux of the matter...is why it is coaching...
Dealing with people criticizing Buckley's play calling is nothing new to AA. Some of the biggest Petal supporters cringed at his play calling.

I care more about the school's future than a prima donna that bailed on our baseball program...his character showed that day...
[/quote]
You lost all credibility with this comment. He was paid nearly a million dollars by the Blue Jays to play minor league baseball for a couple of weeks during the summers. This allows him to play baseball and gave him his best opportunity to compete at quarterback since he will not miss spring practice due to college baseball. Remember A.D. quit baseball for that reason, was he a prima donna that bailed on our baseball program? Had he turned this down, I would have doubted his ability to remain eligible in college. Geez. Sounds to me like you just don't like A.A. and you want to smear him.
