Arizona State (6-5 overall/ 4-4 Pac 10) officially accepted a bid to play in this years Insight Bowl in Tempe. Arizona against a Big East Opponent.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Big East's chances in this game?

The Insight Bowl takes the Big East #3 or #4? If it's #3 then we're possibly looking at USF or Louisville, if #4 then Rutgers will be the team to represent the Big East. Either way, I like our chances.

If USF does not win out, it will more than likely be them or Rutgers. I like those 2 teams chances against a middling team from the no defense pac10.

Based on what Insight Bowl officials were saying today at Rutgers Stadium, I think its safe to say that Rutgers goes to the Insight almost irregardless of what happens tonight with ND. I guess I'd better get ready to head to Arizona.

I think Rutgers has a great shot but, Arizona State will have the home field advantage playing right there in its own backyard

Yes but AZ State will take the Insight Bowl as a season failure rather than an accomplishment. AZ State wants to play on New Year's Day, not in the baseball stadium down the road, plus they are playing a frosh QB.

I doubt ASU will have an overwhelming homefield advantage, although their fans will undoubtedly outnumber the RU fans, theyll most likely be a quiet group, not packing the stadium and making life rough for the RU offense.

Rutgers on the other hand sees the Insight Bowl as the greatest accomplishment in school history since the RU BBall team made the Final Four in the 70s, and they will without a doubt come out amped up and ready to play. And with RU putting 35k in the stadium today, on a cool day on, Thanksgiving weekend, with the students home, against inferior competition it shows me the State is excited about this team and will bring more than expected to Phoenix.

Get ready RU has arrived!

I am pulling for Rutgers to win the Insight Bowl but, Arizona State is no slouch this season. They have played a tough schedule with close losses to LSU and USC and a big blowout win over Northwestern at home. Four of Arizona State's Five losses came at the hands of current Top 25 teams. Arizona State scores alot on offense but, does give up alot of points on defense too.

-ARIZONA STATE SUNDEVILS SCHEDULE-

Sep 01 Temple W0N 63-16
Sep 10 No. 5 LSU L0ST 31-35
Sep 17 Northwestern W0N 52-21
Sep 24 at Oregon State W0N 42-24
Oct 01 No. 1 USC L0ST 28-38
Oct 08 No. 25 Oregon L0ST 17-31
Oct 22 at Stanford L0ST 35-45
Oct 29 Washington W0N 44-20
Nov 05 at Washington State W0N 27-24
Nov 12 at No. 14 UCLA L0ST 35-45
Nov 25 Arizona W0N 23-20

Arizona State is a jekyl and hide case, and I would think they would beat RU, but with a frosh QB playing, I think we should have a 50/50 shot to win going into the 4th Q.
