If Gator Bowl chairman Mike Hartley's words are worth anything, Louisville is a mere formality from a January 2 date in Jacksonville. Following today's 41-17 win over Syracuse, Hartley said the Cards should expect an invitation Monday to the game.

Notre Dame needs to get by Stanford first (14-14 at halftime).

Good luck against (likely) Miami in the Gator Bowl! Should be a fun game as long as Louisville is healthy!

Bowl Likes Louisville Following Win In Home Finale

A memorable Senior Day just got better for the Louisville Cardinals Saturday night. Shortly after the Cards’ 41-17 dismissal of visiting Syracuse, Gator Bowl representatives told reporters that a likely invite would be forthcoming early next week to the January 2 Jacksonville bowl. With Connecticut’s upset victory over South Florida and Notre Dame’s likely victory against Stanford this evening, the Cards look to have a potential rematch with the Miami Hurricanes on the New Year’s horizon.

“That’s going to be fun,

Congrats UL. I am not flaming, but Hartley said that as long as UL beats UCONN. I am not sure if he meant regardless of ND outcome with Stanford or not.

He meant if Notre Dame didn't qualify as a BCS team that Louisville would have to win to lock up a Gator Bowl bid. I'm sure he would take into account the outcome of the Louisville/UConn game if Louisville lost because Brohm was unable to go or they didn't want to risk him getting injured.

Latest rumor is that Brohm WILL be out, and perhaps for the rest of the season. Early buzz is that he tore the ACL and won't be back for a while.

Congrats Cards.

Miami's defense will be tough without Brohm!

I think he is out for the season, even if it is not a tear. He has two more good years left so why take the risk.
