Sorry, ACC North or Pac 18 or nBE takes them for Iowa City/Des Moines market. Not the most valuable commodity though.

Iowa City market? I realize you are very new to the Big Ten but that is where Iowa is located and the city is only like 45k population. Half of that is the University. If you add in Coralville its a little higher but there are quite a few bigger markets than Iowa City.

Unfortunately Iowa State is not a dominating draw on any of them, including Des Moines. They may be the majority draw but I know very well that there are still plenty of Iowa fans, followers and alumni in Des Moines. Iowa is the more politically connected of the two.

Any expansion theories that do not include the wholesale slaughter of the ACC are not good outcomes for Iowa State. That is just the unfortunate fact for them and one that does not make me happy.

It is a great Institution and is a premier ag sciences college. People from around the world go there for that reason.

The point is if Scott expands out there, I don't think he is going to break up some good Bball and football rivalries by not including the Kansas teams. Despite the new markets, he added pure crap with Boulder and the Utes. Now he needs an actual product if he comes midwest.

Where ISU ends up is anyone's guess. I would say the ACC or the nBE, or whatever conference comes out of the best of the rest. Like WVU right now, they are on that island and no dance partner.
