Oh that's rich 03-lmfao From a school whose alma mater is copied from UT Austin, verbatim!

I'm curious though, what do you think we copied - the blue and orange? Hardly unique. We had the hand sign before you, so if anything, we could claim you copied us on that one. However you'll notice we don't claim that, because we're not anal about it.

At least ECU-Charlotte isn't the only discussion that turns into an instant pissing match.

That's why I said "sort of." There's fans from both schools that want it to be an annual game. Lots of animosity between the schools, due to proximity, similar student base, and the perception that UTSA is going to a better conference.

Could it develop into a rivalry? Sure, especially if we were going to stay in the same conference. Personally, though, I feel any sense of rivalry will die since we won't/can't meet again for the foreseeable future.

Hang around until after this most recent reshuffle is concluded. You might just find Tx State and Utsa in same boat as part of a new West Cusa or whatever they will want to call it.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. But it would be alright.

Before Saturday, I didn't see any upside to perpetuating this game as an annual event, but after experiencing the game, and the gameday atmosphere, I think it would be a good addition. 04-cheers

The large contingent of TX State fans (some friends of mine were among them) who made the trip out to SA is a good indicator of that. Although, that helped UTSA out with their attendance number significantly. Nothing wrong with that.

Hardly a caveat. Didn't y'all play OU for your home opener? Attendance is attendance.

UTEP did play OU, but OU fans did not represent as large of a number as TX ST did at UTSA.

A) You have no way of quantifying that, and B) it's irrelevant anyway.

You'll forgive me for being blunt, but it just seems like you are trying to find ways to put an asterisk on our attendance while exempting yours. Don't worry, we'll pass you up (again) very soon.

2012 AVERAGE ATTENDANCE:

UTEP: 29,374
UTSA: 29,226

Just a hundy less than UTEP despite y'all seeing an increase of 3000 fans / game this season.

the last 5 season openers, not including OU have averaged 36.5K... WTF were you saying?

Do you wanna go back ten years, you dumb chicken killer?

I was saying that your average attendance was 26K last year. I'll leave it at that since you took this a pretty nasty direction.

An 8-4 team could not outdraw a 3-9 team, even with TX States help. Time to chase chickens. We will quantify attendance based on wings and thighs.

You thumping chest over the same attendance number we consider to be poor for our team.... That says it all.

That dog won't hunt. To say that I (or we) are chest-thumping is to misunderstand UTSA fans. We were all disappointed in our attendance this year.

Agreed. Saturday's game changed everything for me by pissing off a redhead (my wife). We woke up that morning and joked about going 'bird hunting' like we always do before any UTSA game. However, over the course that game her blood began to boil and she walked out of the dome with a burning hatred for UTSA :irate:.

The next game won't come soon enough. 04-cheers

RE: 39,032 for UTSA VS Texas State
Attendance numbers were not where we wanted them for the year. Hell even drawing 39K for the TXST game was a disappointment. We were talking about sell out at the beginning of the year.

Next year we have a great home schedule OKST, UNT, Rice, Houston, LA Tech and Southern Miss. Our numbers need to swell. Maybe the 45-44 win vs OKST will get the party started.
