I kinda agree. The exception would be if they nBE were to lose more schools and were in danger of falling below 8 all-sports members.

We got our foot in the door which is the most important thing, and are pretty much assured of getting in the Big East for all sports now ahead of anyone new moving up. In the meantime the CAA has already offered and that is our floor, and that's not a bad floor. The new CAA will be about as good as new CUSA, maybe even better, and a better fit especially if Davidson and App State accept their invite as well. It makes a lot more sense anway than going to all the way to texas for UTSA or Rice. College of Charleston and Mason will be as good of basketball rivals as ODU or Charlotte would have been and with the extra 8 million a year to spend there is no reason we can't build a program that is very successful in that league like a VCU or Mason have been.

TH is on this chit. I bet you anything it will be the best he can do for ECU basketball. He wants desperately to see it have success before he retires. It has to be the one thing that he feels he has failed to accomplish at ECU.

THIS!!!

The decision is already made. Terry Holland already had something lined up before this all happened.

Now.....the does not mean Big East for all sports. It could very well mean we already have a place decided in the CAA, A10 or Big East.

03-yawn OK, so how many different conclusions were jumped to there? Just sounds like an AD trying to calm down the fanbase.

Honestly, what else is he supposed to say? It's not like they're driven by any other sport.

I think it was how the general tone spoke of how they would do anything to protect basketball and the fact that they had been working on some things but could not release specifics....those statements leave alot of open space for people to read between the lines. FWIW--I'll admit, Im hearing alot of stuff that leads me to believe that there really could be something between the lines. I think that its probably going to work out, but it could get real sketchy if UConn and Cinici get invites to the ACC.
