OT: The Official Soccer Thread ('Murican Style)
Let's see if this takes off on the Big East board, considering almost every person participating on the CUSA board is now holding a golden ticket to the Big East (minus some Blazer fans).

For those that hate soccer...We get it, but all we ask is that you allow us to discuss it on this board one thread at a time. All soccer levels and leagues are fair game.

Discuss.....

Thanks for the thread Gray Beard.

I'm a 13 year Chicago Fire season ticket holder and have been following the game since the NASL days. Also a big USNT supporter and have attended friendlies, WCQ and WC matches. Even been to Estadio Azteca . . . what a zoo.

I follow MLS and a little Tippeliga and Alsvenska.

Love the game as much as I love my Bears and college football.

You ever go to BigSoccer.com Gray Beard?

Henry RING!!!! Haven't heard that name since he retired after having an All-Star season. Zach Thornton returned from Portugal and Henry left, I think he slid into a finance career or the real estate industry.

Hank did a solid job, hope he's doing well.

Yep. I had heard he went to work for Adidas but I haven't seen him or his folks in a while.

He was a amazing athlete......dude had mad hops for a white guy.....used to piss me off becsause he would dunk all over me.

We grew up together and played on the same club teams but he went to a different high school. My greatest goal came against him in a high school game.....our schools hated each other and as a sophomore I hit a shot from over 30 yards out and it went upper 90.

I am an Earthquake fan, but not currently a season ticket holder. I have been in the past though and plan to be in the future.

Can't say I'm much of an MLS fan, I've tried keeping up with FC Dallas but the MLS style of play just turns me off. I am a pretty big fan of both the USMNT as well as Mexico. In terms of clubs, I've always been a fan of Santos Laguna for the Mexican league (I was born, and have lots of family in Torreon, Coahuila), Barcelona in La Liga (though its a boring league to watch), and just recently became a Tottenham fan for the EPL.

I don't have teams, I just enjoy good matches and Champions Leaugue. Love watching Barcelona, and I find myself rooting for Tottenham (Dempsey) and Everton. Can't stand Chelsea but their owner is crazy!

I'm also partial to the Serie A and Italian teams.

I've watched the EPL since the mid-90s and I never really had a team. Hell I took a trip to England in the early 2000s with my family and all the local kids were dying to convert a couple of Mexicans/Americans to become ManU fans. Fat ******* chance kiddos! It's just recently that I've taken a liking to Tottenham (perhaps its because Friedel and Dempsey?). I also root for Everton a lot, love seeing Howard do well.

And for some reason I hopped on the Barcelona bandwagon as a kid, probably because for some reason I didn't like Hugo Sanchez (who played for Madrid) so I went again him? Not sure why I didn't like him as a kid either lol.

FWIW, that's what some here said about ECU, but yet those of us who wanted you all to migrate here won out.

I am a Chelsea fan but I am really tiring of Abramovich.

Anyone surprised that a SMU fan is also a Chelski fan. The best teams that money can buy.

Everton is a exciting team to watch, and I hope they make the Champions League.
