Does Tulane's departure mean....
That it will INSTANTLY improve the attendance figures for both CUSA and nBE?

Forgive me Tulane fans, but in this nutty realignment world, I couldn't help it.

No, it means the new Big East is serious about competing against the Big 5 conferences...

For CUSA:
Actual attendance goes up...reported attendance goes down.

This is the kind of disrespect Tulane has been getting from conference brothers since 1999. At least Tulane will now be joining a conference that wants them.

Tulane: "We can fill a spot! ...unless that spot is any seat in the Superdome."

Good for Tulane. I mean, I don't understand it, but good for them anyways.

Congrats, you are now the Big East's version of Vanderbilt. Always their to improve the academics of the conference, and not challenge anyone athletically.

I like Tulane and mean no disrespect but if you think you are joining a conference that really wants you then you're not paying attention.

You should be elated with this. Not only did a C-USA spot open up, but the team that you guys claim single-handedly kept you out of C-USA for 25 years is now gone. Seize the day.

ECU's attendance is accurate, but the rest is ridiculously inflated. Especially Memphis and SMU...LOL

Memphis had over 40k at the season opener.
UCF had a DOWN year in attendance at 34.6k
Houston has been at capacity at the Rob for years, how is 27k inflating?

I hate to be the one to break this to you but everyone's attendance is inflated, including ECU's. Some inflate more than others, but all are tickets sold and not actual butts in seats.

Then please explain why Tulane was voted in unanimously? You may also want to read the explaination by the officials of the Big East as to why they want Tulane. They present facts that are either lost on most on this board, or of which they on this board are totally unaware.

Vanderbilt went 8-4 in Football this year.
Vanderbilt Men's Basketball was ranked for much of last season, won the SEC tournament and went to the NCAA tournament.
Vanderbilt Baseball is strong in the SEC. They went to the CWS a couple years ago.

Yeah, I'd be Vanderbilt.

It's a 15-page thread and it's mostly positive.

I mean, it's not, but whatever. Listen, I like Tulane. I love the city, had some friends go there, and we took in a large number of students after Katrina. I've enjoyed having them in conference as a semi-like minded institution with solid baseball. But there is no universe in which Big East fans are happier about having Tulane in conference than Conference USA fans. And honestly, you'd probably prefer it that way. The Sun Belt would be even happier to have you and the SEC would be even less happy.
