I hate that this place is the new Sun Belt board.

Tulsa is bailing on CUSA 100%. Congrats on ruining this place with your beatdown Sun Belt talk.

I hope we never have to play a down against MTSU. What a joke.

Seriously, trying to start fights with the newest members? Geez.

Before this thread degenerates even further because of these type of posts...

We should be bringing a considerable number of fans to Arkansas State for the game. I'm still upset that ESPN didn't feel it was "important enough" to televise the game - and I mean actually televise it, not the BS crap they call ESPN3...

ESPn isn't televising it bc no one cares about it.

Actually,

ESPN isn't televising it because it's not an official championship game and the Sun Belt's TV deal SUCKS. When we come to CUSA, that game would be on ESPN.

People care about it and Arkansas State will probably have at least 30k at the game - and MT should bring a ton of fans too. That sounds like people who care about it to me. It's an important game for both MT, the SBC, the CUSA, and the bowl picture.

Who knows - if we beat Arkansas State and Tulsa wins the CUSA championship, we may just see you in Memphis. That would be fun, you could get a taste of MT football even sooner than you thought! 04-cheers

And it sucks bc no one cares about the sun belt.

So when cusa gets a new contract it's gonna be just as bad bc teams like yours have turned a once proud conference into a laughing stock.

Like anyone cares/cared about CUSA. Like anyone cares about the current Big East; the "BCS conference" that has to play their official championship game on a Thursday night.

You're an idiot if you truly believe that people do.

C-USA may have once been a proud conference, but I'm trying to figure out how much Tulsa contributed to it. Aside from knocking off Notre Dama in Brian Kelly's first season, Tulsa doesn't have a single other win over a team from an AQ conference (assuming I didn't miss one) since 2000. Yet we're the joke? Hmm. I'm sure the MWC is ecstatic about the prospects.

CUSA still had a ways to go. But with the latest round of changes, we have that much more ground to cover.

UTEP fball has struggled in recent years, but it could easily bring in 40-50K fans with an 8-4 team. As could other CUSA teams.... How many can do that now?

It's a struggle and an adjustment the nBE is going through as well. Their previous teams could bring in 50-60K, but now 30K is "great" in some of their eyes.

New teams in any conference need to realize that what they considered great in their previous conference, is not impressive in their new ones. As it should be, if indeed they are taking a step up in competition, and visibility.

Agreed. MT really, really needs to step up the football attendance. Basketball is okay, getting better, but football quite frankly sucks. The crowds are horrible, partly because they don't win home games like they should. Hopefully that'll change though. Maybe some good marketing will bring in 30k (stadium capacity) for our first CUSA games (BYU pays us a visit in our first year of CUSA play of 2014 so that'll be a good crowd).

I hope all the Marshall fans can help you sell it out when we come. I would expect around 3-5k to make the trip. I know I'll be there, already pumped for this one.

90% of MT fans expected this game's outcome.

I'd say 3/4 of us expect the worst out of any situation.
