Well there are those games in Mexico City, Honolulu, and London. 05-stirthepot

But they are for the locals and not for fans to travel to.

Don't get me started on those.

Yes, it would help to have the championship games played at the home field of the top seed but I think going to a neutral site is probably pretty cool for the fans who actually can make it.

Because bowl committees look at these games as a measuring stick, as they do other neutral site games. Until we as a conference decide that football matters and we start supporting our teams on the road we are going to be stuck with the garbage bowls that we have beyond the Chick-fil-a.....which, BTW we lose to the playoffs.

RE: $2 tickets really?
This thread really has 2 separate questions in it:

1) should the championship game be held at a neutral site or a home site?

2) should we as fans do a better job of supporting the ACC Championship Game?

IMO the answers are Yes & Yes.

The CCG games that have shown to draw big crowds every year is the SEC championship game. And it has always had at least one time within a very short drive, sometimes two. If we get a Missouri vs. Texas A&M or Arkansas SEC championship game and it sells out, then I will retract my statement. But Atlanta is just so close to most of the SEC schools....

Probably 20-25 percen of the SECCG attendance each year is fans of SEC teams not in the game. I personally know a group of 5 who have been to every single SECCG.

SEC fans care about football. They have large road contingents regular and postseason. The ACC doesn't and that is why we have a bunch of low paying garbage bowls.

So the issue you have then isn't with the ACC leadership's mentality, it's with the fans of the schools in the ACC. Now I understand some of your unhappiness on this message board.

It is embarrassing to me that Pitt fans don't support the team. I wish I had more financial resources so that I could do my part better than I do right now. The culture of a fanbase is hard to change. It's even harder when there are other options for entertainment - i.e. NFL, MLB, NHL, etc.

Attendance isn't only an issue for the ACC Championship game as someone else mentioned. The B1G had a similar issue this year I believe.
