Announcer during CUSA game
said something to the effect of "come Monday Tulsa is going to have to make a decision on its conference affiliation". Anyone else catch that?

RE: Announcer during CUSA game
Tulsa fans have wondered about that as well. No one seems to have any inside scoop on this at all. Is this related to the Ga Tech to B1G rumor ? B1G-ACC-BE-CUSA train again ? Is it UTEP-Tulsa to MWC ? Who knows ?

Maybe the ESPN announcers don't know what they are talking about.....that is a distinct possibility !

Who called the game btw? Chuck Oliver calls CUSA games pretty frequently and is pretty plugged in.

Don't know who called it for ESPN. I was at the game. Just heard the same story about these comments from other Tulsa fans.

When he made that statement, I wondered what he was talking about but it slipped my mind until seeing this. It was a weird statement to make without having some inkling of something going on.

It sounded like "announcer-speak" to me. Just the incoherent ramblings that you always here during a game.

Well unless Dave Pasch & Brian Griese have become CUSA insiders I wouldn't look too much into it but Tulsa fans feel free to run with it. Maybe the SEC will come running to you with open arms.

RE: Announcer during CUSA game
^^^ just seems uncharacteristic for an announcer to say during a football game when nobody has even mentioned it

RE: Announcer during CUSA game
who knows

I think Mwc. Great hoops. Decent football. Utep will improve after price is gone. Same path to a Bcs game as the nbe.

I get the feeling that the nbe is a little too unstable right now for Tulsa.

I also get the feeling that Fresno is staying in the Mwc.

I will add that if UTEP and Tulsa go to the MWC, then WKU and Arkansas State has to be the teams that CUSA brings in. Cant imagine they would bring in New Mexico State over Arkansas State.

I agree. Let the Sun Belt throw NM State a lifeline.

There are Sun Belt fans that want them...can't understand it personally. It's mostly Cajun fans who want them...even that I can't understand. It would be like me wanting MT to be in a conference with UMASS.

Ha. I'm not saying it would be a terrible add. They have decent basketball. Without UTEP though we would just be adding another outlier.

Oh I agree, basketball would be a nice pickup, but the travel...03-puke
