Actually, if you read, my source is Terry Holland himself saying that we will be in this new league.

I honestly don't care either way but I find it strange that he would send out emails to you telling you that ECU is joining the new "airport Conf" yet no media or anyone else is getting these same emails that are so readily available. Plus there is the ECU/Big East Cheerleader with his rock solid source on the ECU BOT who also claims to be in the know yet hasn't really shown anything other than his hard on for the Big East. If there are emails with rock solid truths and ECU BOT with rock solid info the why is it there are no articles or even tweets on twitter about ECU joining?

I mean if its such a done deal then why is it nowhere?

Because the conference hasn't formed yet. You have to dissolve the old conference first before you form the new conference. The media is covering the dissolution and not the formation.

It was because I sent him an email inquiring about the conference and submitting a new name for it.

Take it for what it is worth

ECU hasn't left CUSA and might not until 2014 yet its pretty well documented they are moving. I also doubt media especially media covering ECU would ignore emails from a direct source about ECU joining a brand-new conference made up of left over Big East, a few CUSA schools and 4 or 5 MTN West schools. Something that is different than the supposed New Big East.

The actual proposition is for 16 teams with an east and west division that do not crossover. That is one of the things that have been brought to the table of the schools involved that are not the C7 that have just defected.

We will see what happens, but we won't be in CUSA when 2014 rolls around.

Look, we all know that ECU fans are not in the know on this because ECU has not been invited to the reconfiguration meetings post C7 defection. So just quit making stuff up.

I am and have always been proud of cusa.

If we leave I will continue to be proud of cusa and am going to enjoy every second Tulsa is in the league.

Cusa has been great to every team that has ever played a down of football in it.

Respect your roots.

Next year is going to be a lot of fun. Stoked to play southern, tech, rice and of course lay the annual arse kicking to tulane in front of 39 screaming wave fans.

I think Marshall rolls in the east and we get a great championship game in Tulsa or Huntington next year.

Who's footing the bill for SDSU to send volleyball out to Cincy? Not NBC/CBS or Fox.

"Transcontinental" conferences only work for football, and that's debatable. This whole thing has gone from insane to suicidal. Amateur college athletics is in a self destructive death spiral.

The last month has really made me wonder if my school should really go FBS should an opportunity arise. The TV money isn't looking as good and the travel picture is just getting worse. The non AQ leagues need to get together and realign based upon geography and negotiate TV deals as a whole to minimize costs. What they are doing now is playing a game that only works for the top 60 programs.

Except for some outspoken malcontents (that we all can name), I can't think of a fan of a remaining or departing program that doesn't feel exactly the same way.

With "insert program name here" I took some minor liberty with your post.

Looks like I was right contrary to what everyone else was saying. We are in the talks and part of the new league. I just take Terry Holland at his word, not a bunch of bloggers with no connection to our university and their strategic vision.

For the record, I am not ashamed of CUSA, nor have I ever bashed it (except for Banowski on occasion). However, I have wanted to be in a conference where the games are regional and we have finally got that.

I have not gloated about going to this new conference either. I am not sure where you guys are getting the CUSA bashing from. I haven't done that at all, even in this thread. You are making up stories in your heads.

You guys can tirade all you want about us selling out. We can still be cordial to each other.
