RE: What will drive next choice? Football or basketball?
New Mexico, Colorado State, and Wyoming have been in the same leagues since 1951, with the brief exception of 1962-67, when the Rams temporarily went independent. Air Force has played CSU and the Cowboys forever, and all four have been in the same conferences since 1980. The bond is strong.

New Mexico basketball is not worth the trouble that breaking up those four would create. After a while, New Mexico will complain about not having any nearby rivals, and the seeds for the eventual destruction of the league will be firmly planted. People need to think about the long term, not only hoops.

Looks like Tulane wants to be in the east as well so it will be a dogfight between you guys to see who gets in the CUSA portion of the conference.

Maybe your just being flippant, but this . . . UConn, Cincinnati, Temple, USF, Navy, UCF, and East Carolina looks nothing like Conference USA . . . and of course, that is why ECU will finally catch a break . . .

And for completeness. . . Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno, Houston, SMU, Memphis, and Tulane looks alot like a Conference USA/MWC merger (because it is) and nothing like the Big East Conference that UH joined . . . and is why everyone is trying like hell to avoid this lineup (with the exception of Boise State/SDSU) as hard as they can . . .

It actually does look like CUSA...all the teams that you list were in CUSA minus UCONN who was an FCS callup. It is what it is. And if you are banking on UCONN and Cincy sticking around I would not hold your breath.

03-idea If the ACC decides to add UConn and Cincinnati that gives the C7 the two football votes they need to dissolve the Big East B4 June 30, 2013. 07-coffee3

Everyone like who, you inside your mother's basement? Without a doubt, all those teams, including Houston, want to be aligned with Boise State.

No other UH fan that I've read, posts the same foolish crap you do about East coast affiliation, basketball, and academics as representing Houston's primary agenda.

None of us speak for our respective universities, but in your case, you don't even represent the majority of Houstan fans' perspective; quit acting like you do.

Western Kentucky
Tulsa
UTEP
Marshall
UAB
Southern Miss
Rice
San Jose State
Nevada
Utah State
Hawaii
Louisiana Tech
Florida Int.
Florida Atlantic

The below schools could very possibly be given invites sooner than later, if not tomorrow.

UNLV (overall favorite brings best basketball and football on its way up)
Fresno State (top 25 football)
New Mexico (nice basketball program but football is a throwaway)
Colorado State (could become better overall program than Colorado)
Air Force (would they be all sports or just football?)
UMASS (decent hoops)
Northern Illinois (BCS buster, Chicago market, gotta consider them for the East division)
Tempe to the acc is joke.
Possibly Cinn and UConn to the acc if they are raided.

There was a time when Louisville to the ACC was a joke. Memphis to the Big East was a joke. Marshall, UCF, and Rice to CUSA was a joke? Times and circumstances turn those jokes into reality. The ACC will soon look like the Big East did prior to Rutgers and UL leaving.

Exactly right 04-cheers

See the part about "everyone is trying like hell to avoid this lineup (with the exception of Boise State/SDSU) . . . " you really do have a chip . . . Houston and most everyone will push you down a flight of stairs to play Boise State . . .we just don't want to play Fresno, UNLV, Utah State, Nevada, New Mexico, etc. . . we had that chance . . . we passed on it to play in a Conference USA, which had pretty much the same geographic footprint as the SEC . . .

And you really need to take off your the blinders that everyone, including UH fans, WANT to play in your a best-of-the-west conference . . . only a very low minority of Houston fans WANT to be in a division that is predominately schools WEST of the Rocky Mountains . . .

This was pretty much made clear here: http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=607717

UHCougar, just trying to read your last post. Were you quoting someone? Because it appears you said
