His problem is that most schools in this conference now are happy to be here. Uconn and Cincy, not so much.

Nope. Neither can Temple or anyone else in this league. Hell, Boise would drown SDSU in the Pacific for an ACC invite right now.

I would say this is exactly like ECU (and other defectors) fans role on the C-USA board. Talking about games is fine, but talking about what you will be doing in your future league or what you think the league should do when you're gone isn't going to go well. Now the second part shouldn't be an issue, unless of course if you are being a prick about it.

Then why don't we stick to that 03-idea

Actually, your board is already under the ACC tree. How about not sh!tstirring.

How many more warnings does it take for the likes of Wilkie et al that only post to stir up crap to finally put a stop to it?

Who can we contact to help??? As it seems nothing is ever being done.

RE: SIR: Updated Aresco Interview
Finally got home so I can watch this clip. Pretty flat.

It's not the most inspiring interview I've ever seen, but Aresco is trying to keep some version of the conference alive. I think it's going to be very difficult for Mike Aresco and the conference to get enough money for a full membership 16 school conference.

Just can't imagine the Big East making more than $60 million per year for this year's CUSA/MWC inventory, tomorrow.

At the $60 million figure, a full membership 16 team conference would pay $3.75 million/school. Under $4 million for the "best fo the rest" conference . . . or like Aresco said, "This is the best of the other teams."

Additionally, it has to be hard on the Big East office to try and pin down media rights when the TV partners are pricing in more defections. Sure Aresco can show them a list of replacements and hopes of convincing BYU, but that unknown will also be priced in.

Best of luck Mike!

I think alot of these low Dodd numbers are BS. If you read how he phrases it he says could be worth as little as 30 million. He is using the low range of estimates. The NY Post said Aresco thought the deal would be around 100 million--after Rutgers and Louisville were taken. Take away 20 due to the loss of the Catholics and we are at 80 million. I dont think he was planning on 16 teams at that time, so add 10 million for the extra inventory provided by 2 more teams. Thats 90 million or 5.6 million per team with a 16 team league. Its not great, but not horrible either. I think the final number will be between 4 and 8. Call it an even 6 million per team.

I'm thinking 5 million a year if it stays national and 3 million a year if it turns into the C-USA all stars.

He had been out there being very aggressive in salesman and PR mode throughout the football season, but this was pretty somber. He says that the league "deserves a good TV contract and I think we'll get it", yet he doesn't sound like he believes it (whereas 2 months ago he seemed to completely believe it in his presentation).

Spot on Frank! Aresco is going to be lucky, if he can keep his job! 07-coffee3

No clue why I'd even ask but what specifically has Aresco done that would make him deserve to lose his job? Not be able to keep Louisville and Rutgers?

Not so long ago posters on this board were staking their credibility on Aresco's ability to fart rainbows and $#!+ money. He has been a huge disappointment by their standards.

Yup. Midas failed to turn everything he sees into network gold, and he all but guaranteed that everything will turn to s*** by inviting Tulane.

Mean the same school Big East Presidents voted UNANIMOUSLY to offer a Big East invite to?

Funny to see a few blame Aresco, when it was the Big East Presidents themselves that voted UNANIMOUSLY in favor to hand Tulane their invite.

Fans of any program still in the Big East should feel free to express their opinion.
