Buffalo Trace is hard to beat for the money. Dickel and Jack distilleries are both very close to where I live. Dickel is good but I am not a fan of Jack except perhaps Gentleman J.

RE: OT: Bourbon
I bought a bottle of Makers 46 last night and that is the new favorite by a good margin. Admittedly though, that is probably the highest end bottle I've tried to date.

Regular rotation includes Makers, Buffalo Trace, and Woodford.

RE: OT: Bourbon
Further OT: Wanted to throw this into the discussion....leaving bourbons for a moment: Rye Whiskey

I have recently gotten into rye whiskey.....Templeton Rye which is made in Iowa using a Prohibition receipe is very good. It's priced a little higher than Basil/Woodford/Makers46 range but it's very good.

Not as good as bourbon but it's worth a shot....

Russell's makes a good rye too but Templeton is the best imo

RE: OT: Bourbon
I go through everyday bourbons at a pace of 3 1.75L per month. More if there's a reason to drink, like the holidays. 04-jawdrop
And none of that's even counting the red wine!

Everyday:
Old Forester (rye under notes, why pay extra for Woodford?)
W.L. Weller (wheated, why pay extra for Maker's?)
Early Times (not as sweet as bourbon, seriously underrated!)

Step ups:
Russel's Reserve Bourbon and Rye
Bulliet
Buffalo Trace
Booker's (one ice cube to chill just a little and dilute just a little)
Old Pogue
Pearse Lyons Reserve Whiskey (only Kentucky malt whiskey)
George T. Stagg (why settle for Pappy?)

(Sorry, can't tolerate the maple adulterated Tennessee knockoffs, 05-mafia)

I think he wanted the opinion from discriminating drinkers, not people who drink it to hydrate.

Hahaha!

Wow you are a drinking machine.... for bourbon. I'm bigger into Belgium beers for my hydration.

But I like some of your reviews for your everyday bourbons. Will give Old Forrester a try.

My everyday bourbon would be Wild Turkey 101. I love the higher alcohol content that packs a nice spice punch.

My high end bourbon is Woodford Reserve. Nice and smooth with good flavor.

My small batch bourbon is Bookers. MMMMMM

Makers Mark is good, Knob Creek is good, Four Roses is ok.

Basil Haydens I'm not to fond of as it just has no kick to it.
