Maybe I am old school, but it is sickening to me to see teams come out in uniforms that aren't their school colors. Examples: Oregon who I now call the carmeleons, Arizona State with their black uniforms and a few others. I sometimes can't tell who they are because nothing about them is readily notable to identify them and I long for the days when you could turn the game on and instantly know who is who. I wonder if one day you will see Ole Miss come out in maroon and white to play Miss. State in red and blue uniforms .

I love the alternate uniforms. I wish we had the budget to do more than just our existing blackout uniforms and silver pants we occasionly wear, this year we worked a matte black helmet in for the first time and it definitely generated some buzz.

I despise Duke's black uniforms. The only colors that should be on the uniform is dark blue and white

Well one could argue that Gray, White, and a Black are neutral for any school. I don't mind the alternate or special uniform but I do prefer it to look like something with school colors or a design based of school logos. they crazy stuff sometimes looks bad.

I don't want neutral uniforms. I want uniforms to be pro team!

I only like them depending on the color. If it's a 3rd alternate color then it's alright. But if it's a random color they just picked it doesn't make sense.

Not a neutral uniform but a neutral color.

How many teams have "white" uniforms but white isn't a "school color"?

ECU's colors for example are Purple and Gold

Your Blue Devils are Blue and White.

Even though I must say, I own a Hurricanes Alt Black Jersey cause it looked cooler than the red or white standard ones :D

People born after 1970 tend to like them, people born after 1990 tend to love them...

It seems like now-a-days schools are changing their main uniforms every year. I feel like Toledo has had new unis the past 3 years, or 3 out of the last 4. Everyone always says 'if the players like it, it's ok', but how many players have been a fan of a team for a long time? It seems like most fans prefer tradition over a fad.

The next time a fan leads the conference in rushing, you may have a point.

I like the Duke basketball "black" uniforms, but dislike the football "black" uniforms, and ESPECIALLY when worn with the white britches.

Anything Oregon does with its football digs, I like. Except if they ever wear one of those new-fangled digs while honoring "breast cancer" month.

I dislike that crazy chrome helmet thing that Carolina wore late in the season. F'ugly. But hey, they assisted in the ouster of NC State's Tom O'Brien, so there's that.

My dad used to tell me that the reason Duke used to bounce between the blue and black for road games a few seasons following the back-in-black season, was because of K's superstition following their loss to FSU in the blue. I can't remember his exact wording or the details, but that's what it was summed up. I'm not sure of whether he got this first hand from K, or through my grandfather. I personally liked the black unis.

Miami has never had this problem - our helmets are white with the red M, with a standard red and white uniform. Looking around at the other schools, I like what some of them are doing, but some of it is overboard. By this point Oregon has a trademark on ridiculous looks, so it's pretty standard for them at least. I like tradition in for uniforms in general is good in my opinion, but a lot more so in the pros than college. For programs that don't really have an identity, going to a strange color scheme might help build some buzz, and if done well, can look pretty sharp.
