Probably the worst game I have ever sat through. I've never seen Rutgers offense so inept. Even worse than 2010 when they were wildknight'ing it.

That one will be a strong candidate for the worst bowl game of the year.

Do you think Rutgers might have ended their 2 decade long losing streak to WVU if they had?

I don't. Even WVU's defense could stop Rutgers offense. If you can't score, you don't win...
I'd hate to see that game... WVU by 35 easy
The good news for Rutgers is that they can pick up another QB for next year. Nova isn't the answer...

Chris, as bad as Rutgers offense is, I don't think it matters what kind of defense WVU has. Remember 2001? It was RichRod's first year in Morgantown, he didn't have any pieces to his offense in place, and still beat Rutgers 80-7...

This game was the microcosm of our season. Horrific QB play, subpar O-line play, defense is just stellar until getting gassed sometime in the 2nd half due to being on the field the whole damn game. Just plugging in a competent QB we win against Kent, tonight and maybe Louisville, maybe. The defense can compete with anyone provided they aren't on the field for 40+ minutes out of 60. (Although I don't love our D-line.) Our offense has 2 good running backs, a few decent to good wide receivers and then a whole lot of nothing. Also the coaching is boneheaded. Flood should just be fired already, but I can understand giving him a 2nd season but one where he knows he's done if they don't make massive improvement. That being said the OC and the QB coach need new blood immediately.

Only good thing about that game was I was at work so I got paid to watch it. Otherwise I would've gladly watched a Lifetime movie of the week instead.

Can you imagine if we would have played Florida in the Sugar Bowl! Wow, that would have been a nightmare.

Even with a 9-4 record, Flood should be fired. Only nice thing is now Pernetti can take a year and get the best coach available. Flood's one of the most inept coaches I've ever seen on a sideline. We won 9 games this year solely by the strength of our defense, NFL-caliber players, and Robb Smith.

But I can never forgive this man for not giving Dodd one series all year. The guy was neck and neck with Nova all spring, won a lot of big games for us in the past, and never got a shot. Dodd played through the years where we gave up record numbers of sacks, and never played scared like TurNova. Nova threw 6 interceptions in a game and still was not pulled. Tonight, a man with no arms could have played better. For what Dodd gave this program, he absolutely deserved at least a quarter to prove his stuff after the way Nova has killed this team.

I'll tell you what happened in the Lifetime movie of the week. It was the mans fault, he did it but the woman was strong enough to survive. The end.

Flood is not head coaching material. This game was a complete debacle and it was totally his fault. No reason to refuse to sit down a quarterback who has been struggling and regressing for the entire second half of the season. I understand that he doesn't want to play musical quarterbacks the way Schiano sometimes did, but there was a reason Schiano yanked his signal callers in and out, which was that he tried to win in spite of their limitations.

Dodd and Nova both have weaknesses, which is why Schiano went with the hot hand last year, and sat whichever guy began struggling. The objective is to win the game you are playing, not worry about hurting some kid's feelings, or worry about a high school refusing to send you more recruits in the future. How useful are those recruits if they all play like Nova anyway? Dodd started half of 2010 and more than half of 2011 but barely played in 2012.

There is a difference between being and "one quarterback coach" and not letting the back-ups throw a single pass all season. Flood was so afraid that Dodd would come into Kent State, Pitt, Louisville, or Virginia Tech and win the game, causing people to second guess him, that he preferred to lose with Nova. You never leave a dude in a game to throw 6 interceptions. That game marked the end of Nova, and he should have sat himself down last night.

I think Flood will learn how to make the hard decisions as he goes along. This was a learning seasons for him. I agree that in the 4 loses, somewhere I would have put Dodd in. Nova has regressed throwing off back foot etc. Play calling in the Louisville & Va Tech games seemed to be trying not to lose (which eventually happened) rather then playing to win. If I am Flood I am not locked in that Nova is the starting qb. He has to win in next year.
