I assume he was talking the fact that Navy has been bowling from 2003 to evey year except 2011 and since 03 syracuse has only been bowling 3 times..pretty sizable gap you got there but nevertheless congrats on the win.

Funny how you had to wait over a year, and posting only bowl game results, to try to discredit the quote.

But completely ignore the full season results of the past 10 years.
Talk about reaching

Still quite funny after the shellacking that his team has taken from SU the week after he made that ridiculous comment. The Pinstripe Bowl results make it that much more laughable.

The proof is in his own words. The guy says stupid sh1t all the time.

And yes, I'm a Marshall "homer" and proud of it. A 1995 Graduate...I bleed Kelly Green.

No different than you being a WVU 'homer".

Im not upholding his comment but it wasnt ridiculous. Over the past 10 or 12 years those programs clearly have been better.

Cuse had a 4 year abortion under Greg Robinson but still managed to beat Notre Dame and Louisville. Cuse plays a real schedule...look at Navy's schedule. Littered with easy wins.

Over the last 10 years, Navy has won more games than SU, and they may have been a little better but they also have played a much easier schedule playing the sisters of the poor and beating a bunch of teams that could not become bowl eligible. I would venture to say that SU would have been bowl eligible most of the years from 2005 until today, had they played Navy's schedule. As for Air Force, they have only been decent since 2007. The statement was very ridiculous, because I dont see the Acc or Big 10 or Big 12 considering any of those teams. And he basically said that he would rather have those teams as conference mates than SU or Pitt. He made that ridiculous statement after SU and Pitt announced they were leaving the BE and WV was still stuck there begging every other conference for an invite 01-wingedeagle

RE: Oliver Luck
Yes...which made it disingenuous as he was working with the Big 12 at the same time.

Navy built their wins on playing 1AA schools, MAC teams, weak Gang of 5 and BCS schools.

AF would get 4-6 auto wins every year playing the dregs of the MWC and a couple easy Nonconference teams.

Luck made a cheap shot and now looks like an idiot.

The AD's at Pitt and SU are also laughing at Luck and they are laughing all the way to the bank as well, especially Dr Gross. And Luck was dead wrong about Pitt and Cuse, and it was an idiotic statement then, and looks even more idiotic today.

RE: Oliver Luck
cuse, in the terms of value to The BEast in football, he really wasn't that far off base. You just think because Syracuse beat WVU that it proves your point. But neither Syracuse or Pitt did anything to prop up BEast football after the initial ACC raid. Pitt's main claim to fame was folding down the stretch, whenever they had a chance to step up. Syracuse didn't even get a chance to stand in this century...

Perhaps they will in the ACC someday. Marrone has Syracuse pointed in the right direction. I'm going to wait and see on Pitt. But when talking about their efforts on the field in The BEast, Ollie nailed 'em...

Well then why was SU and Pitt taken by a Big 5 conference over Air Force and Navy, and before WV? Pitt and SU never had to go scrambling and begging for an invite.

And its not because SU beat WV like an unwanted stepchild the last 3 years but because of all that SU brings to the table over Navy and Air Force.

Because the ACC leadership is as stupid as The BEast's leadership was. They've valued the wrong things, which is why the ACC is on the bottom rung of the power 5 conferences...
