Good initial post. In the interim, a poster or 2 has tried to muddy the water, but I tend to agree with you that the money would be there.

David Krysakowski, you're proposed BE conference would be a worse situation. Are you being serious?

Catholic League? Sorry, Georgetown and Villanova aren't interested. (A lineup like that would bankrupt Georgetown basketball.)

Unfortunatly David K is serious. That does not mean however that anyone takes him seriously.

What you're interested in ..... and what you're gonna have to settle for ..... are two different things. Georgetown and Villanova will not have a choice in the matter. You will end up in a Catholic League whether fans like you are interested or not. I'm not interested in my job sometimes ..... but I have to eat and live ..... so I get the job done.

TS2 on bigeastboards.com/bbs/viewforum. In expansion by the $$$$$$, I lay out seniro were money would come from. [I don't know how to paste web addresses]. You asked me, my intrest in B-E expansion. I've been working on seniro since '90 & enjoy CFB. In fact mid '90 talked on SI B-E board about expansion, theory back then was ACC would not expand because of BB tourn. it took 10yrs but that theory went out the window.

Football schools go one way and the BBall go another and they keep their Basketball Units. Providence, Seton Hall, Georgetown and Saint John's will get very tired of going to the NIT most years. Football schools just have way too many advantages that their Football counterparts have over the BBall onlies.

a cusa east structure
That proposed merger of BE schools and cusa east schools from the deep south IS NOT NEEDED, NOR IS IT JUSTIFIED FINANCIALLY OR OPERATIONALLY.

Hell, we can just stay at 8 for the time being. Just want to get away from this 16 team confederation.

For the time being I can more then live with a league of UofL, UC, USF, WVU, Pitt, Rutgers, UConn and SU with ND being a partial member.

After seeing this, I have to wonder if all the stuff you adamantly post reference a possible BE split is as well researched. I like your logic and your passion if not your conclusions - but you dont seem to let facts get in the way of your opinions. Calipari was totally exonerated by the NCAA - that is a fact not an opinion. If you dislike the guy thats one thing - to spread patently false accusations thru either ignorance or just sloppy lackadasical research effort sounds like something a guy from...say...The University of Phoenix would do. (With apologies to individuals trying better themselves and their families through that particular institution.)

Yes its just one of many good stories told to me by A-10 people.Like the one where he got a recruit to sign letter that he did not understand what it was Yes the free jewelry fell out of the sky in Amherst into Marcus Camby's pocket(or some special friend just put it there). For profit colleges are out to milk government funds and give a minmal education content.Just a few steps above a degree mill.

"Basketball only" is a misnomer. Three of the eight schools you describe sponsor football at the Division I level.

Ok ,now I think I understand how you operate/think: you take "stories" you've heard and essentially restate them as facts on public message boards while protecting your personal identity using a ficticious screen name. Is that correct? Note: that while I pretty much agree with your description of for profit colleges - that is entirely different from disparaging those individuals who, for better or worse, have chosen those institutions to attempt to better themselves. Perhaps your character and personal education affords you a certain false level of elitist snobbery or perhaps you were just being boorish. Either way, it doesn't seem to help your otherwise concise and logical thoughts on BE expansion.
