Common Denominator in 2pt Shootout Losses
After another one sided officiated Crosstown shootout with Xavier shooting way more freethrows than UC I did a little research. In the last four Xavier two point victories I found out they shot 126 freethrows to UC's 57 .
2000-2001 Xavier40 Ft. UC 15
1999-2000 Xavier 30 Ft UC 13
2003-2004 Xavier 28 Ft. UC 18
2005-2006 Xavier 28 Ft. UC 11
Its amazing that with the freethrow disparity that we have been able to keep these games so close. For the Atlantic 10 this game is so big in their bid for respect they're officials do everthing they can to ensure victory.

Maybe we should either stop playing it or force a neutral sight with out of conference refs.

2000-2001 was a UC home game when Price stole the ball from Logan in the last minute. The rest were at X.

The difference according to your stats then is XU free throws 126 to UC 57 someone needs to look into this further. We lost 4 games by a total of 8 points when they shot 69 more free throws. WOW do you think UK, OSU or IU would continue a series like that??

This is interesting one. I am not trying to whine about this. I can see this as trend. I just wanted to insert 3 more games since the season of 1999-2000.

2001-02: UC 75 XU 55 --- XU with 11 FT and UC with 11 FT (at XU floor)

2002-03: XU 50 UC 44 --- XU with 7 FT and UC with 6 FT (at UC floor)

2004-05: UC 65 XU 54 --- XU with 25 FT and UC with 25 FT (at UC floor)

UC is 2-1 against XU (by total of 24 points) with their balanced FT numbers.
